Just because they isn’t much of a trade market, doesn’t mean moves can’t be made to sent a message. Waive someone (Moulson). Send someone down (Griffith, Tennyson). Call someone up and give them a good line assignment (Baptiste). Put someone in the pressbox (Okposo). Give someone a better line assignment (Big Z). Etc... Don’t stand pat!

and again, teams rarely make early season trades. Duchene for example still hasn't moved. Botterill will have to wait because the market right now doesn't really exist.

 

And again, you could be correct. Hard to say one way or the other since none of us appear privy to what, if any, discussions bots is involved in.

In theory yes, but Moulson has been in the press box. We are kind of stuck with him though. No way to get rid of him. You can send someone down, but nobody down there has impressed enough to get a call up. They are juggling lines. Okposo is a dilemna. Stuck with the long contract, so you are kind of forced to try to get him going. Sports psychologist maybe? we all know something ain't right there. 

 

Just don't envy Housley right now. He is a new coach so he has to balance winning the players over to him with expectations. He has to be careful benching players until he gains authority. It's a tough spot. Like it or not, players do quit on coaches in this day and age and the coaches usually lose. If I were JBot, I'd make it known Housley wasn't going anywhere and had full power to bench and discipline. let the players know he is the boss.
