dudacek
I'm too young to clearly remember the French Collection power play, but I imagine it was glorious. I clearly remember what a thing of beauty Lafontaine Mogilny Andreychuk Hawerchuk and Bodger was. Could the five we had out there yesterday reach those heights? There are no passengers. They can play it high or low. They can all shoot, all pass, all hang on to the puck, all go get the puck. And they all read the play so well. It could be dominant for a long time. Doohickie
You're talking about two power play goals in a single game. Keep it in perspective.

And the team was kept afloat almost single handedly by our power play while Jack was out. Now Jack is in for Matt freakin' Moulson. I'm with Dudacek, this could be the best #1 PP in the league. Doohickie
Okay three. I was thinking of just the first period. But the point is the same: Sample size is minuscule.

They have the makings of a Blackhawks/ Caps pp, or quite possibly an early '90's Pens pp. Okposo is the only one even close to "long in the tooth" & Nylander is waiting in the wings for when he becomes Moulson. If they stay healthy, it's a fun team. We just have to hope a coach that understands that (and TM realizes he understands that) comes available before O'Reilly is a shell. Cereal
I wonder if someone somewhere keeps stats of +/- per PPTOI? (I realize that +/- doesn't apply to PP's)
rakish
I wonder if someone somewhere keeps stats of +/- per PPTOI? (I realize that +/- doesn't apply to PP's) behindthenet.ca used to, but the NHL changed their game logs to javascript, making scraping more difficult, and it doesn't look like they are going to update for this year. Not sure that's the cause and effect (not sure when NHL.com changed), but it's a nice narrative Edited December 1, 2016 by rakish
