That is one thing that I do not like ... I have not been able to find a way to disable the forced updates in 10.

 

 

Yes, but the key thing is *look like*, which does not exactly mean *runs like*.

 

Drunkard is correct ... 8 and 8.1 was designed to work best on a tablet, or phone. The way it works and is designed it is for a mobile device that is not a laptop.

You can make it run like 7 as well in the same amount of time. You can't tell a difference except that it's much faster, and boots quicker... and still have control over updates. I haven't even been to the mobile (metro) screen in months, it boots directly to desktop.

You can't shut those down apparently, you got a free download and the forced updates come with it.
