There's also no guarantee the Oilers take Ekblad. They do have a lot of prospects on defense already. They could take BPA (Reinhart) or trade the pick to someone a few spots lower. OR take Reinhart and trade one of their other forwards (Yakupov?).

We have the "best" chance of drafting the best forward available, but it's only a 25% chance. The part in bold is the right way to look at it.

Do you take the smaller, more intense guy (who got hurt in his last OHL game) or do you take Draisaitl who is bigger and a more natural center? I don't think it's obvious which one will be better in the NHL. I Know there's a 75% chance we draft second (that is set in stone) and I assume the team that drafts first will be smart enough to know forwards are more valuable than defensemen (reasonable since you never want to assume your competition is dumb). I think us drafting 2nd with Reinhart gone is likely, and I think Bennett versus Draisaitl is a tough call.

Most likely scenario is that we're drafting 2nd overall and Reinhart is gone. Not an easy decision then.

Didn't we already have enough depth to get him off the roster? Still happy we drafted him instead of, you know, Russell Wilson.

Are the NFL's ratings really going to go up that much by putting a team in LA? LA already watches a ton of football, and benefits from getting the marquee match ups every week.

My vote for best show on TV right now goes to Hannibal, which is fairly astonishing because there's absolutely no reason to think a network TV show about Hannibal Lector covering his life/murders before Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs would be even close to good. Especially on NBC, where every show is total garbage. And yet it's as tense and brutal as anything from Breaking Bad. The violence is on par with anything from Walking Dead. And the acting is as good as Mad Men and Breaking Bad (which are tied in my mind for best ever). And it's all filmed as artfully as anything I've ever seen on TV. I didn't think a major network could do this. If you have Amazon Prime, you can watch the entire first season for free. And if you don't, it's worth the $30 to buy the whole season. Season 2 just started and they're still taking things up a level -- pretty much how Breaking Bad went from "Great" in Season 1 to "HOLY ####" in Season 2.

Nothing -- and I mean NOTHING -- will ever be cornier than the Season 1 episode where they get into a battle with the latino gangbangers over a cache of guns and the big reveal at the end is that the gang members only wanted the guns because they're protecting their elderly family members at an old folks home.

Carol storms Terminus with the same Gatling gun that Jesse Ventura had in Predator. That's my prediction.

I'm not married to the notion of drafting any one player. And I'm even trying to brace myself for them going defense with Ekblad. A few of these guys look great and I don't want to be disappointed if they don't take the one guy I decide I really like.
