  1. Well, at least it was totally cool when we beat Boston.
  2. Plus you don't have to pay for tickets. They actually pay you!
  3. I was just thinking about this. I was never a Stafford fan even when he was scoring goals but this year, when he has no goals and barely any points, I think he's been better. Still wish we'd have moved him when he was at his peak value. Too bad Darcy was hibernating that summer.
  4. He's been better than Leopold.
  5. Every day is a good day to sniff glue when you're a Sabres fan.
  6. I don't know if the Amerks got better as much as the rest of the league got worse. Every AHL team's roster changed significantly once the lockout ended. A lot of AHL rookies are finally getting a chance to do their thing in a "normal" AHL that isn't flooded with young players that would otherwise be in the NHL.

I'm not trying to be a dick. I noticed it the first few times and was hoping you'd notice the spelling. But we're entering week 3 of this thread so it's time to say something.

Really? Because I'm pretty sure I've never seen you spell it correctly. But good job digging up a typo of mine. Totally the same thing.
  9. I only collect if Pope Benedict actually becomes the next Sabres coach though. Fingers crossed!

For the love of God, it's MYERS. M-Y-E-R-S. There's one "e"! How many times are you going to misspell it?
  11. Sorta have to go with Crosby or Malkin, but I wouldn't be much less excited about adding Tavares.
  12. They get about 8000 Sabres fans a night now. The rest of the seats seem to go to out of town fans. Lucic scored an empty netter tonight and basically saluted an entire section of Bruins fans in the 100 level. Do any season ticket holders actually go to games in this town?
  13. We'll know a lot more about our season three games from now.
  14. "Case closed." Wow, that was fast. Sorry, the case isn't nearly closed and won't be for a long time. Everything could look totally different again in another 10 games. Plus, let's see what Hodgson's numbers look like when Vanek cools down.
  15. Time to sit back and see if anyone gets this reference.
  16. I've never liked Bucky Gleason but I'm not sure I believe that he just made up "league sources" based on what he's read on message boards. Are we really at the point where every time a reporter says something is dysfunctional behind the scenes with the Sabres, we have to accuse him of making it up?
  17. I'll be holding my breath the entire game waiting to see if the Bruins try to take out Vanek with a cheap shot. I give it at least a 50-50 chance and I figure more teams will be tempted seeing as how he's our only threat. Plus, the Bruins have incentive and it's not like they've even needed incentive in the past.
  18. Why doesn't the Montreal win go in the Vanek category?
  19. They were also completely outplayed for 60 minutes by a team they should beat. Not a great game in the big picture.
  20. It's a good deal for the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn though. The word is that the team is keeping its name, logo, and colors for the move (i.e. not doing what the Nets did) and that'll be 41 more events there each year (at least).
  21. Sad that fans are saying this seven games after we decided to keep him for the year. Do the Sabres have any idea what they're doing with this kid?
  22. Their arena is super old and run down. They're moving to Brooklyn in 2015.
  23. Might be worth considering then, but I'd still mainly base it on his development. Is going back to the Q going to make him better long term or not? I wouldn't know. I wish we had better players for him to play with though. Hecht and Ott isn't a great fit. Three of the team's four wins are just from Vanek going off. We're basically one Thomas Vanek away from being the worst team in the league.
