  1. Yeah. With Ennis out, our number one center is Cody Hodgson. He has 12 points on the season. Centers number 2-4? Varone, Grigorenko, and Schaller. 16 career NHL points combined.
  2. To make it less obvious. Obviously.
  3. If he's out, then five of the top seven point scorers won't be on the team tonight. Foligno, Deslauriers, and Zadorov will be tied for third on the team in points. I struggle to see Buffalo win this one, regardless of effort level, which is probably a good thing.
  4. It's true, only 10 more games of pure suffering. Then approximately 164 games of partial suffering before ~980 games of raging bliss. As long as we finish 30th now, we'll have something to watch for the next few years at least.
  5. Lindy's doing the Stars a solid too: they've slipped to 8 points out of the wildcard spot and Lehtonen needs to clench hard.
  6. Who's that team that nobody circles the wagons like?
  7. Our new Bills are cheeky and fun. The old Bills are cruel and tragic... which makes them not Bills, at all, really. Weee little Bills.
  8. Shaone Morrisonn -> Shaone Morrisonn
  9. Guess what trolls, if you're not a contender in the Stanley Cup playoffs, you're a lottery team. This isn't news. This thread blows. So here's some Joseph Decreux:
  10. Yes, Peters is cro-magnon.

  12. OH THE FOLLY! Just kidding. I'm glad he's doing well in his new opportunity. I also hope Bogosian keeps thumping wingers.
  13. Agreed, of course, and I don't think GMTM would tell Nolan flatly to lose under any circumstance. But a lot of coaches would say that player development and getting looks at players is within the realm of the coach's empire. If Nolan wanted to put the team in tryout-mode, where we start getting longer looks at younger guys, I think it'd help the tank and maybe even the rebuild. But it's separately GMTM's decision to install those players and Nolan's decision to play them more. Nolan may decide he can get the looks he wants with players earning their ice time in limited roles, and it would be his right to go that way. It'd be fun to bring in all the kids to play all sorts of crazy minutes, and we'd probably lose a bunch of games (to our long term benefit) doing it, but it just might not be in the cards for any serious coach to do that.
  14. Notable that Button has Hanifin down to 8th and Crouse down to 11th. For goalies, he's got Sandstrom (46th), Blackwood (60th), Booth (63rd), Montembeault (76th), and Vladar (91st).
  15. It doesn't have to be that way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCMzeP_LnUM
  16. We can only hope. We can only hope.
  17. Separation of coach and GM is still important. If GMTM crosses that line, and then Nolan is fired or quits, it'll get out to the media that Nolan was forced to leave because he wouldn't tank. And. We. Will. Never. Hear. The. End. Of. It. We've been under the shelter of plausible deniability about the tank. GMTM makes moves that he can claim "make sense for the rebuild," and he gets to deny the involvement in a tank. That changes if he tells the coach who to play. It also potentially threatens the ability to keep or hire a head coach if candidates believe that the GM will "meddle" in the coaching duties. The way to tank isn't to force the coach or players to do something they weren't bred to do. It's to cut the nuts off of the roster. Don't like who Nolan plays? Move 'em. GMTM had his chance to maximize the tank with roster moves before the deadline, with the exception of players on two-way contracts. The train has left the station, and we're all on board, wherever it's headed.

  19. From reddit: Here's Rex and Pegula in Boca Raton: Here's the real time flight plan, they landed about a half hour ago: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/XSR960 Um, I would like to approach the playoffs more than once?
  20. Kinda don't want.
