  1. I am selfishly hoping that Michigan wins the championship, thinking that both Portillo and Power will feel satisfied with their collegiate careers and ready to move on to their next challenge.
  2. So if this happens, we still retain his rights until 2024, correct (since he was drafted in 2020)?
  3. Yes...I kept seeing others assess that the Red Wings, Senators, etc. were further ahead in their rebuilds vs. lowly Buffalo. I found myself falling for this assessment. Now that we have a larger body of work to see (March), I feel more like "F*** - it" our rebuild is going just fine! I need to give GMKA more credit.
  4. Hopefully Levi, Portillo, Johnson, Power, etc. will see what happened in Buffalo tonight and help them with their decision making.
  5. Having the Pegula's in the building to see and hear it with their own eyes will maybe inspire them to go "all-in" to get this team back to contender status so that Key Bank can look and sound like this every game! If you build it (good team), they will come (fans).
  6. Guys.....more turnovers than the Pillsbury Doughboy's kitchen! Need to take care of the puck and play your positions.
  7. Did Dahlin pass it to the extra Pred's player on purpose? If so, great heads-up play on his part.
  8. Boys are looking a bit flat lately...maybe since halfway through the first. Need somebody to get the crowd going and inject some energy back in their game.
  9. Love the energy of the 1st period....the guys just need to tighten up and stop the turnovers.
  10. Is this right (re: Portillo)? I thought he was only a sophomore, but maybe that doesn't mean anything.
  11. How was that not goalie interference?!?!? Not exactly the best response from the others on the ice either IMHO.
  12. Does anybody have any idea if there will be a replay available of the ceremony? Unfortunately with Directv Center Ice, I don't get any pregame before 7:00 pm.
  13. I would contend that BALANCED scoring is more important. Teams that have had success consistently get 3rd and 4th line scoring in the playoffs.
  14. I think of the 2018-2019 St. Louis Blues cup-winning team. I don't recall a superstar forward on that roster. ROR had a great post-season for sure, but he's not a "super-star" in my definition of the term. That may not be the only example, but yes I think a team can win without a $10MM+ forward.
  15. Agree....I think the departure of perhaps multiple players needed to happen for new leaders to emerge. I don't know if even Risto's presence could have been a factor as well. The new "room" with guys like Tuch and Okie may brought a different vibe encouraging more teamwork and accountability.
  16. I'll admit I wasn't always sold on DG, but how can you maintain that any HC before him should have been kept? Even Disco Dan did not find success as a head coach post Buffalo. For the first time in a decade, I feel we have somebody in place who can get this team to the playoffs.
  17. I miss hearing a good pipe organ during the national anthem.
  18. Dahlin to Skinner convert.....Ralph Krueger was a terrible coach!
  19. If I'm not mistaken...the bracket indicates that if the Gophers beat Minnesota State and Michigan beat Quinnipiac and then Denver in the Frozen Four, then our 4 prospects will face each other in the championship FINAL. That would be great to see!
  20. Where's Brent Peterson when we need him?!?!
