Just adding my applause to Stars digital media people. I trust the Pegulas will see it -- Kim, specifically. How does she see that and not think that her digital media department is a generation behind what the good franchises are doing with that sort of stuff?

God almighty - a pox on both of them. They need to Thelma and Louise their *arses off the Niagara escarpment.

Robin Lehner Opens Up About His Bipolar Disorder and Alcoholism
That Aud Smell replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
It's not my area of expertise, but my sense is that prospective employers bear legal exposure if they ask about an employment candidate's medical history (to include mental health). Now, in the realm of pro sports, there's obviously stuff like passing a physical. But I'm not sure the Islanders were entitled to know that Lehner had a mental health diagnosis. What issues were well known? That he was bipolar? Suffering from a mental illness? Or just a huge drinker? Also: Who's the other player? O'Reilly? -
Robin Lehner Opens Up About His Bipolar Disorder and Alcoholism

Aye yi yi. May God bless this man and his family. -
Fair. I’m sure there’s disappointment there. To me, he just seemed braced for the prying questions and was super committed to giving up nothing in response. If this is a 3 or fewer win team, McDermott/Beane still get until late October 2019, imo, at least. The offence is so talent deficient this season, that the Pegulas could easily be swayed that they need to see Allen in year 2 with a better supporting cast.

Matthew Fairburn @MatthewFairburn Sean McDermott said this is ultimately his decision. He said he and Brandon Beane discussed it and ran it by Terry and Kim Pegula. 11:33am · 12 Sep 2018 · TweetDeck Matthew Fairburn @MatthewFairburn Terry Pegula standing on the practice field next to Brandon Beane watching Josh Allen go through routes vs air right now. 12:13pm · 12 Sep 2018 · Twitter for Android

William Nylander's name was not included on the Leafs' list of those coming to camp. I am fairly sure Reinhart's name was included on the Sabres' list. Anything to see here?
-
Watched ~45 seconds of the presser where he was addressing the move initially. He doesn't seem mad, to me. He doesn't seem as though his hand was forced. Just my sense.
-
Why, God. Why?! Oy vey. Yep. I have to go watch now. JFC. I'm rapidly trending toward "McDermott is a faith-based idiot." Only thing that can stop that train on the track: If Josh Allen somehow shows well in the next ~6 games. It could happen. I doubt it, though. Easier to take the semantic L here than slag on an apparently shiftless girlfriend. I chuckled.
-
Gotcha. "Move" also encompasses the possibility of "trade." Hence, my post.
-
First, you acquire talent through the draft. So, process. Also, the Bills' dead cap situation is so bad that they might have held off from doing more FA for this season. Seriously. Can you frickin' imagine if they trotted Peterman out there? They'd risk mutiny. Move Peterman where? The waiver wire would be the only place that'd take him.
-
It is interesting. In terms of business model, this is indicative of more slashing, though. TBN is moving to newbies and free lancers.
-
Right. And I probably should have added: Capable talent evaluators on the offensive side of the ball.
-
This is a huge concern. Of course, the reality is that if you don't have an offensively-gifted coach like Reid, a talent like Mahomes may not become anything.
-
it's only been a few posts, but this fake inkman thing is dumb and annoying.
-
Ah. Fair point. He seems good.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I'll have to go and listen. In his defence (not sure why I'm offering it), it could be very, very tricky to find the right tone given his role and team's performance. Maybe he is actually shell-shocked, but he could also be struggling to figure how best to talk about what's going on (from an optics perspective). It's a complete and total mystery to me what they had in mind on the offensive side of the ball. I mean, on D, at least they drafted a young stud and made some FA moves (bad ones, it would appear). But on offence -- what the actual fook? It's possible that that might be the worst offensive unit in the history of the non-strike NFL. McCoy at 30 years of age might save them from that judgment. Unless, of course, the plan was to soft-tank.

There’s gotta be some slight difference in the name, yeah? Otherwise.... how? edit: When I “search” for members, only real inky comes up. Faux inkman’s profile doesn’t pop up.
-
Yeah - you gotta watch it. I had to digest it in chunks, it was so bad. Bizarre.

I’m not withholding anything. My thoughts are incomplete and disorganized. I think McDermott is a good and honourable man with good intentions. I do not in any way mean to imply that he’s some raving racist. No way. But there’s something about the wrestling, the faith stuff, the ever present camo hat, the persona, the *process*. And like I said to Flagg: I’m not theorizing that there’s some big secret. People are complicated. And multi faceted. Ambiguity abounds. I think that there are some specific non-football considerations that McDermott brings to bear in personnel matters. I’m not exactly sure what they are. But they lead to a place where Pat DiMarco is a captain on offence.

Does it makes as much if not maybe a little more sense *with* a whiff? I think it might. And I’m not guessing at a horrifying revelation. I’m wondering whether those ... factors are squarely in the mix, consciously or otherwise. I suspect they are.
