  1. I’d love to see those figgers. Intriguing. I’ve seen enough to wonder whether he can be good, maybe very good.
  2. I won't do the math. I can't imagine there's a recouping. There's some offsetting, I imagine. Now. If you had tickets to sell to a Sabres-Leafs playoff game, you might be talking closer to recouping.
  3. One thing that I did not anticipate, but have been pleasantly surprised by (with the caveat that it's an intangible) is his confidence/competitiveness/swagger. The dude is a BALLER.
  4. I went to the game in the 1999 ECF where Peca leveled Domi as Peca exited the penalty box. That was the best game experience I've ever had, anywhere. That includes The Comeback and Game 6 of the 2006 ECF. Part of why the 1999 game was so good was because the arena had a good amount of TML fans there, or, in the case of the 4 dudes next to us, hockey fans from central/western Canada who were there to cheer for a team from Canada to advance. The atmosphere was absolutely electric.
  5. Well, it can still be fairly young. My sense was that he's played several seasons as a pro in Sweden.
  6. I hear you. He ain't so young, though. 22, right? A fairly seasoned pro.
  7. He’s here to stay, I think. Only reason to send him down would be because you don’t want to expose another guy to waivers.
  8. That explanation doesn’t hold much water, though. So, from where I stand, the process remains difficult to understand.
  9. It really is hard to figure. I should hope that it wasn't something as simple as not wanting to admit that they squandered what they paid to acquire him.
  10. PTL. That guy has been so clearly disinterested. Given his attitude and track record, I half wonder whether he'll even catch on anywhere else in the league.
  11. Well there's your first mistake. Seriously. There's part of me that can't stand how condescending Schopp is to many callers. There's another part of me that's like, "I get it, man. I get it."
  12. His long-ball to Foster a couple weeks ago was the picture of composure in a crowded pocket. This past week: And:
  13. I've been noticing this for a few days now - the site just seems gummy and delayed. I had thought maybe the issue was more general to my CPU or server. But it seems specific to this site. Anything I can do to improve speed?
  14. Lord have mercy. I had not really focused on the fact that he bailed early. Hopefully, he'll get that sorted out. Also agreed on the deep vertical nature of all those routes.
  15. Oh, man - it's taking will power not to circumvent the swear filter. BEAT THE GOSH DARN LEAFS. Please. Let's go, Buffalo.
  16. I mostly saw the second, where they looked quite good. Real-time SAT data indicated that the Predators fairly controlled the 3rd though (?).
  17. Fwiw: What I’ve been harping on is the suggestion that Allen’s and Clay’s errors in that play were essentially equivalent. Allen’s error came in failing to flawlessly pull off a spectacular play. Clay’s errors were more fundamental, imo. (If Clay comes back to his QB more and moves his feet better, he makes that catch look easy.)
  18. This is ill-wrought and comes off as condescending. Correct on all counts.
  19. As if the seconds within which he actually threw the ball could exist in abstracted isolation from the rest of the play that led up to it. The takery that views Allen as making a really bad (even pitiful!) throw is utterly perplexing to me. It was a wobbly throw that could have been better. But it was good enough. You know what wasn't good enough? Clay's footwork. #stumbletrip
  20. It was an imperfect throw made in connection with a remarkable effort. It was good enough. And it was catchable, which, under the circumstances, was impressive.
  21. Really good post. I especially like this excerpted bit. Along those lines: The field-angle clip of Daboll collapsing to the ground when Clay failed to haul in that long ball was really something. Yep.
  22. Do agree with this. It's pretty remarkable. McCoy says it all the time, and I credit: The guy is just a baller. I'm still very much unsure whether he can be a good NFL quarterback over time. If it does not come together for him, it will not be for lack of effort. Interesting. He's certainly absurdly competitive and inherently self-confident like Flutie.
