  1. Brady is, imo, the greatest athletic competitor ever. Greater than Jordan. So, I pay respect to that greatness and his accomplishments. Beyond that, I view him as a jerk, tw@t, as.shole, and, thanks to his TB12 business, putative grifter. Fu.kc Tom Brady forever and ever. People sitting on top of the world who punch down are the absolute worst kind of people. (Being the greatest competitor ever and a sh1tty person makes perfect sense, actually.)
  2. ^ Clicked through. That thread is hilarious
  3. Sir. Sir! Diggs is an undisputed top tier WR1 in the NFL. However, his proverbial tool box does not contain everything that Hill’s does. Hill’s quickness and speed are unmatched in the NFL right now.
  4. Pegulas’ yacht budget in play again? The only reason I can imagine for Dorsey to leave Allen is over money.
  5. Stupid and reckless play on his part. Apparently he has a history of ill-advised hits on skaters?
  6. I think he saw a player in serious distress, and exercised discretion.
  7. Rule 8.1 “When a player is injured so that he cannot continue play or go to his bench, the play shall not be stopped until the injured player’s team has secured control of the puck. … In the case where it is obvious that a player has sustained a serious injury, the Referee and/or Linesman may stop the play immediately.”
  8. Ah - okay. So not a change of possession, but a moment of non-possession. Tough luck for the Sabres.
  9. I mean, I know it went because of an injured player. But why then?
  10. Why’d the whistle blow? Our announcing team useless for context or an explanation.
  11. Beat the Chiefs. And may God preserve Orchard Park.
  12. I read the last 3 or 4 pages of this GDT ... and I came away confused over what and why people are watching at this point. This post is helpful. I do wonder how and when his team would make the transition to playing high-risk/high-event hockey, to playing a more responsible, efficient (but not boring) game.
  13. 4 PPG’s, yes. Dallas has also had about 70% of the shot attempts at 5v5. That’s ridiculous. Thompson is such a bright spot.
  14. Dallas is just shoving it tonight, from what I’ve seen. Sabres have been fortunate to score 4; Dallas arguably unlucky to have only that many. I haven’t noticed Samuelsson, which … good (?). Everyone on the Sabres getting out shot and out shot attempted — few more so than Samuelsson.
  15. Happy for a reminder that Tage is a good NHL forward - great look to Pysyk.
  16. I’ve caught some of this game - the first in a long while. The score is pretty strongly against the flow of play.
  17. Shot attempts were something like 24 against and 11 for while he was on the ice. That’s bad. But I’ve learned that raw Corsi is just a stat - in isolation, it is often misleading. @dudacek indicated above that Samuelsson very much passed the eye test - sounds good to me!
  18. But it was executed as practiced.
  19. McCarthy said that they regularly practice that play, and practiced it extra during preparations for the wildcard game. The implication being (or at least my inference being): They ran it exactly as they practice it (including the distance). So I wouldn't even blame Prescott for a lack of SA - he ran the plan that was called and ran it precisely as it was practiced. Only because the ref came absolutely flying in there in an apparent effort to give the Cowboys a chance to get the play off. Why would such a razor-thin margin ever be part of an acceptable play call in a do-or-die situation? Listening again to Romo's colour: A shot to the end zone on that play with :14 to go might have been a really good idea -- if the 49ers had defenders skewing towards the sidelines, the middle may have been more open.
