Logjams at the 4th line aren't a good thing unless you have an over abundance of prospects you're trying to bring into the league. Yeah sorry I can't see trading a top or second line Dman for a bottom 6 forward and bottom 4 Dman.

Why not add the "local" kid in Ryan Roobroeck? He plays for Niagara and wouldn't have to move far to come to Buffalo. 6'4" C.

That isn't a bad signing for us if happened. Yet I have to think he looking for K'Andre type money.

You would think he could move Samuelsson to San Jose for anything just to clear the cap space. I like Bo and the only reason I'd move him is because of cap concerns and personally feel we need more help at forward now based on the current state of the roster and again emphasis on Center as to me it's a blaring hole.

I'm just looking at a way for them to lose cap space and get Bynam and way for them to sign him. Let me ask would you trade Bynam and Kulich or Helenius for Thomas? I'm just talking hypothetical as doubt Adams would do it.

Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou both earn $8m per season. Kyrou been talked about a lot this off-season but if I'm the Sabres I'd push for Thomas as he plays C and the Blues have Schenn and Suter who can play C at a top 6 spot. Yet both have NYC so we'd have to convince them to come here.

Not sure as Berniers give us a 2C we currently lack and we could keep Byram since no Power.

I mention many a time that Dawson Mercer is a guy I'd go after. As he had his best season playing under Ruff. He could at least give us a Center we lack. Is he better than Byram? No but to me gives us more than Willander would. Heck maybe could get a throw in Kasper Pikkarainen in.

The Blues are now 2.5 million over the cap and have quite a few forwards. Gotta wonder if the Sabres could snag one with Byram.

In 2023 but again another RHD prospect. He's considered a good 2 way defender. Yet it isn't a need. We need a top 6 forward. I'm hoping with Suter signing with the Blues and them over the cap it might tilt them to trade with us as they have an over abundance of talent at forward.

I'm expecting Calgary to make Byram a one year offer for at least $7,020,113 which net us a 1st and 3rd pick if we don't match it. As the made an offer to to Ryan O'Reilly when he was a RFA a few years back but Colorado matched it. Personally I wouldn't match it because means he becomes an UFA next year and we get nothing for him if he walks then as long term not sure we can afford to pay three Dmen over $7 million a season. Yet it sucks as means we're getting futures when we all know we need. So hopefully Adams can swing a trade t get us a player back and maybe some picks back too.

With the way salaries are being handed out $10 million might pay 1 high end free agent (see Tuch).

If you sign Byram to the type of contract he may command (see Miller's deal with Carolina) than you're going to have little cap room for guys like Tuch and Kesserling next year. Personally I think that's investing too much on our defense when we have little on offense outside of Tage and Tuch IMO. Norris might be a top 6 guy but his injury history is scary.

Yeah I guess but still you'd like to think he could at least be in the discussion for a 6/7D man. Personally I would have kept him but have a feeling KA didn't because of cap concerns or maybe he didn't want to be here.
