  1. One can only hope he recovers what ever he broke before getting here otherwise he's a just a waste of cap space.
  2. As much as I agree we need him age is a concern and am sorry a good GM finds to get an asset back to even the trade out more. Even if it means taking on a B level prospect or a later round pick.
  3. trade a 24 year old Dman and a high end 1st for a 31 year old and low end 1st makes sense? In what world?
  4. and this has what exactly to do with Marco Rossi?
  5. Sounds you'd want Cole Beaudoin and Matias Maccelli. If Adams could pull it off sure but not sure he could.
  6. I agree Byram is better hence looking for a prospect back. I brought up Smith as he one that gives us a type we don't have.
  7. Middling forward prospect maybe Gabe Smith?
  8. Sergachev is their top lefty but they have an aged Ian Cole (36) as their #2 lefty whose contract ends next year.
  9. Anyone think we could pry away Michael Kesselring from Utah for Byram? As he's a right hander, good point production as a bottom pair but also gets his nose dirty with PIMs. I think he's more of a top 4 tbh. Might be good complement to Power.
  10. He'd be a great add, what are you suggesting to get him? Power and our #1 and...? or Byram, our #1 and...? Or you one of the crazies that thinks we should move on from JJP?
  11. Outside of Tage, Tuch and JJP everyone is a big time question mark. I'd like to add another top 6 guy as Norris when healthy a good 2nd line C but still need another winger.
  12. He was waived by Nashville on November 9, 2024 and according to https://shrpsports.com/nhl/stand.php?link=Y&season=2025&divcnf=cnf&month=Nov&date=9 the Sabres were actually higher in the standings than Columbus who ultimately got him.
  13. We need NHLers not more prospects. If Byram goes to Seattle than I'm eyeing Kaapo Kakko as a possible return.
  14. We could have drafted Bennett but took Reinhart instead...
  15. It's because Adams is hoping that Levi becomes the next great goalie, problem being he isn't NHL ready or at least #1 NHL ready yet. Maybe in two seasons yet even that is a high expectation IMO.
  16. Physicality is important but guys need to be more than goons these days otherwise you get guys like Greenway who sure can log minutes but don't produce points and you need to move them on the 3rd or 4th line. The Sabres need a Tkachuk/Barnaby/Peca aka a guy that can be physical but also produce points, I'm guessing that's why we both like Bear. Yet with whomever we draft likely being 2-3 seasons away that's why I'm all for trading the pick away with someone (not JJP though to me him TNT, Tuch and Dahlin) are all untouchables to get a bonafide top 6 forward or top 4 Dman that can play in the NHL next season even. I'd also like a goalie to pair with UPL or if Levi keeps winning in Rochester the latter. As like to see a 50/30 split preferably the new guy getting more playing time next year and over time make Levi the #1 guy.
  17. Holy hell it feels like yesterday Seguin was traded to Dallas and now he's 33.
  18. Unless we end up getting some other team's Mittlestadt back when trade Byram.
  19. Pure speculation but sounds like something Doug Wilson could fill and give him a higher title than he has with the Penguins.
  20. Bear was looking like a fit. His injury isn't horrible since we weren't likely going to see him in the NHL in 2-3 seasons. I'd probably still take him unless a top 5 guy falls.
  21. I didn't like putting Benson in the NHL straight from the draft. I'm not sure he'll ever be a top 6 guy. He just feels like another Krebs. I hope I'm wrong.
  22. JJP is arguably our 2nd or 3rd best forward. To me he's a staple, if you want to keep Byram you need to get Samuelsson's albatross of a contract out of here. I like Byram but at same be okay to move him, Samuelsson, Quinn, Benson, a prospect or 2 to get a top 6 guy. I'd love if could get Teravainen from Chicago to put on the 2nd line. I'm not sure what the Sharks could offer that be worth JJP given his age, contract and potential.
  23. How does moving JJP make us better?
  24. So you want Seth Appert as our HC? Not me. The problem is it feels like Pegula running the Sabres the way Ralph ran the Bills. Not suring what to do but let go of guys every few years and just hope something lands. The problem is we haven't found a bonafide #1 goalie since trading Miller. Also as mentioned giving bad contracts to bad players too early. I still shake my head at giving Samuelsson that contract I mean what justified it?
