  1.

The only hope is they did not put on the ###### show the Sabres did tonight. But it is going to be close

Carolina is a much worse team than Buffalo. They just have had a lot of puck luck early in the season and with Staal back they'll be even worse going forward. They outshot Van tonight and their last game. They'll string a couple loses together here soon as Buffalo stakes its claim to CHL dominance.

  2. Nolan on with GR states he needs to earn ice time and has been OK in practice

Apparently Benoit, Mezaros and Weber have earned ice time. Replace those 3 with McCabe, Pysyk and Zadorov... instant upgrade, but we don't want that. Keep the tank rolling in the right direction.

  3. After perusing this thread I've come to a single logical conclusion... and that is he needs to stay in the NHL and play. Next season they can send him to Rochester if he still needs polish. Nolan says they've been working him hard in practice to point where he's getting mad because of all the conditioning drills they're putting him through. I would expect to see him play at some point on this road trip... wether that's due to injury or suckitude, we'll see him play here soon.

The Golden Sieve is awarded annually to the Carrion Hockey League's (CHL) goaltender who is "adjudged to be the best at this position".[1] At the end of each season, the thirty CHL general managers vote to determine the winner. It is named in honour of Georges Sieve, who died in 1926 of tuberculosis. The Trophy was first awarded after the 1926–27 CHL season and was awarded to the top goaltender.

  5. If he gets sent back to London you cannot recall him until after the Knights season ends.

ahhh, well then it all kind of makes sense then. don't like that rule tho, what's the difference if the 9 game tryout is at the beginning of the season or mid-season? would make it more of a strategic decision to call guys up for their tryout after they've had some time to develop a bit more. anyway, something has to give soon.

  6. Right. So like I said before, the only good reason to have him here is because you're anticipating waiving some of the plugs you signed in the offseason.

Still doesn't makes sense to me. Why not have him play in London until you wave somebody, then call him up for his 9 game tryout or whatever. Certainly beats not playing at all.

He hasn't played competitive at all yet this season and it's mid-October. He's a 19-yo kid who needs to develop his game, not sit and watch. I wish a reporter would ask Nolan or Murray what's going on.

  7. ...Nikita Zadorov continues to be a healthy scratch. Wonder what Nolan/Murray are thinking here, I don't get it he's only 19 and needs to work on his game.

Send him down to London for big minutes or put him in the lineup, sitting in the press box is hurting his development. Seems like Grigorenko syndrome all over again.

  8. LOVE THIS

Nolan is a key piece. He has absolutely zero chance of being fired this season. They could go 0-82 and he'd be safe. Top down the organization has been setup to lose games this season, seems the players have already quit, which probably wasn't supposed to happen 3 games into the season... but whatever. In 3 years there might only be 2 or 3 players still around from the current roster... no big deal. It's always darkest before the dawn.

  9. Actually their D-zone coverage was the best it's been in years.

Disagree. Too many open looks, guys standing around watching the puck instead of tying up sticks. It was a mess, and Columbus took advantage of it. Score should have been a lot worse.

  10. I'm starting to think Ted Nolan was put in place to help with the tank.

Their deficiencies in their own zone have nothing to do with talent or effort. If you watch closely, all 5 players stand in a defined area and just watch the puck as it travels around the zone. The way they set up looks like a penalty kill with the center occupying the center of the ice. That's a coaching issue, not a talent issue.

So what does Ted Nolan say after the game? Does he think they need to work on their D-zone? No. He plays it off as there being too much hype for the game and they had jitters. Nice.

That said, I expect this to continue for 2 more seasons, then a move will be made. I'm sure Murray has his own guy in waiting, just isn't the right time yet.

    Tank On.

  11. Trade Ristolainen before he becomes the next Kalinin... I have yet to see what all the hype about this kid is.

Myers is pure beast and he's young with a favorable cap number. I wouldn't move him unless the return is substantial.. top 10 pick or similar.

  12. Buffalo will be a bottom 10 team heading into the trade deadline. TM will move pending UFA's Stafford, Stewart, Mitchell, Mezaros, Benoit, and probably try to move a goalie since both will be pending UFA's.

Gionta will be injured by then, so will Myers, and they'll sink to the bottom like a rock by the time the season ends.

I'm not worried about it, not one bit, TM knows what he's doing.

  13. I agree their would be plenty of teams that would want him. I'm just not a fan of his game. If you are going to be a stay at home tough defenseman than don't be -30.

Nobody wants him, he sucks. Stay at home tough defensemen who suck are a dime a dozen.... every organization has dozens of those guys in their system. There's a reason they're not in the NHL, except in Buffalo.

Weber will be in the NHL in 2015-16.

    Doubt it.
