Kulich has an NHL body/game already. Ohlund, Rosen and Savioe have a lot of strength training to do
At 6' and 178#?

What a waste of a year for him.

Actually in his entire tenure he has only made 1 “hockey” trade (Staal for Johansson) and has never traded a pick(s) or prospect(s) or mix to assets to acquire an NHL player. He has also yet to sign a player to a contract longer than 2 years.
While I agree with many of these moves, it’s hard to bring talent in known areas on need without using all the arrows in the quiver. These areas have been obvious (goaltending and defense) for 2 offseasons, 2 deadlines and 1 1/2 seasons.
What am I missing here? What did he get for Eichel?

Wait, I thought the QPC line wasn't doing it for DG?

Oh, they're interested in acquiring Levi? Well la de frickin' da.

Technically, they don't, right now. They're 15-14-2, so they've lost 16 and won 15. They're listed as W and L, but while W is all wins (Reg, OT, SO), L is only regulation wins.
This. I look at it as they're sub-.500 based on record but super-.500 based on points.

Goalies prospects are weird. Portillo could in fact turn out to be the better goaltender long term. We just don't know... that's why you should draft a goalie every other draft or so. Need to keep the goalie pipeline stocked and eventually you'll catch lighting in a bottle.
Well they drafted Portillo in 2019 and traded for Levi in 2021, essentially drafting a goalie every other year, and Portillo is probably gone. Personally I think was scared-off by Levi. So taking a goalie that often might work against you.

We won't be "glad he didn't" in three years when Levi is injured and out for 20 games.
O...K...

Speaking of Portillo, he's giving up 2.94 GAA and has a .902 SV%. Shoulda signed with the Sabres last year. Glad he didn't.

Has Levi signed with us? Will he of he hasn’t? Are we sure to get him on the roster?
He will. Portillo won't.

Why does he not want to be in LA/why do they not want him in LA?

I was working with a guy who is an Islanders fan. You think the angst over TNT was bad (prior to the last few games), imagine what they're saying about Barzal and his $9M/year deal.

Holy early goalie pull.

Almost positive that wasn't the problem. The problem was the shot that caught him clean on the boot.
True. Should have added "also."

It took Petersen 6 seasons to get to the NHL and then he was sent back down the next season. He's currently given up 9 goals in 2 games. I don't view him as much of a loss.

Looked like he got hurt after that big hit on Holloway.

Comrie plays really well tracking the puck in butterfly and during chaos. But the book on him is shoot high. Still prefer that weakness than the lost and confused goalies we came from.
Isn't that true for most goalies?
2 hours ago, nfreeman said:It's obviously way too early to come to any conclusions, but I will say that Comrie seemed cool as a cucumber and very much in control last night.
As I've said previously, the biggest unknown that the Sabres need to go their way this year is for 2 out of Comrie, Anderson and UPL to deliver good NHL goaltending. At this point I think it's fair to say that all 3 of those irons are still in the fire.
I wonder who starts tomorrow vs Calgary?
I'm betting Andy. The old man got some extra rest by playing Comrie back-to-back.

Watching Devon Levi and Northeastern vs Vermont on ESPN+ on demand as an appetizer to the Sabres Amerks double header.
Triple header straight to the veins today, Let's GO!!!!!
Appetizer? Northeastern is playing at 7:30 PM, the Sabres are playing at 1 PM and the Amerks are playing at 4 PM.

Rotating as in Anderson gets 1 minute, Comrie gets the other 59?

Or switch to Verizon wireless.

So he's not master of his domain?

Hopefully. But in the year 2022, it still remains to be seen whether his vision and accuracy will be able to handle the tightened down defenses once running isn't really the same threat. It's still entirely possible he could go the way of Cam Newton, just as it's possible he could be the next Brady. Time will tell.
He'll be fine as long as the OL is good.
Is Tage Thompson a top 10 NHL player? Is he top 5?

After last night's game, he's the NHL's leading goal scorer on a per game basis.
