He was drafted well before the WJC that he was the best goalie at. He also was not expected to be the starter of that Team Canada much less to be as studly as he's been. The Panthers have Bobrovsky on a ridiculous (bad) contract for 4 more years & also have Knight. They're happy w/ what they have & managed to get an affordable top 6 winger for a very late 1st & a guy they don't have room for who only cost them a 7th originally.
Fair enough. It just seems that his CCHL and WJ A Challenge accolades would have merited a higher draft position. And that adding another one at the WJC would have made the Panthers do everything they could to hold onto him.
Here's hoping they regret trading him.

I'm amazed that a) he was a 7th round pick and b) the Panthers still traded him away (along with a 1st round pick) after his performances at the WJ's.

I don't find the announcers on NESN all that biased. They gave Tallinder props on the play to keep it in for a few more seconds and called Savard a diver. Frankly I found the announcers on Tuesday (Jack Edwards and someone else) worse when they were talking about how a Bruins player should cheap shot a Sabres player when they got a chance.

Very tough to play back to back especially after getting in so late last night. CBC said the Sabres did not get to Montreal until 2:30.

I'm not expecting them to win because it's the 3rd game in 4 nights and on the road. If they get any points, I'll consider it gravy.

Nothing like a BS goal to take the wind out of your sails after dominating a game.

Max is like that- he creates so many quality scoring chances that even if he misses most of them, he's still scoring a lot of goals (and even when he doesn't, he is tiring out and frustrating the other team, which can be just as important).
I forget who said "you don't score a goal on 100% of the shots you DON'T take" or something like that, but it's true. Throw it at the net and see what happens.

BTW, I'm a huge fan of Ryan and think that Marty is strictly a backup. It just seems that Ryan is snake-bit when it comes to shutouts. It was like an "it figures he'd kick the puck into his own net to lose a shutout" type of thing.

Where did I say he sucked? I was implying that Ryan can't seem to get a shutout to save his life. But that the win is the most important thing. :rolleyes:

They showed it coming off his leg and approaching the net but they never actually had a shot that showed the puck over the line. Im not sold that the puck actually went in the net. Miller is a fantasy nightmare when it comes to shutouts...
I went into the back of the net, along the side, which obscured it.
