I wouldn't dare. My father who immigrated from Italy was stern about education and respecting teachers. In grammar school he would regularly go to meet with the teachers and tell them to hit me. When they asked him why because I was a good student and behaved. His response was that you haven't caught him yet, so whack him just in case. 👨‍🎓

Have the beatings continued into adulthood?

Nah. The Sabres will be winning quite enough without him crushing 16% of the cap by himself. I'm guessing he's rumored to Toronto because he was born within 35,000 km of there. My sleeper is he skates with Crosby (on a discount deal) for a couple season and the Penguins just keep the superstar center thing going.

Most likely he goes somewhere sunny, warm, and without state income taxes.

Who wasn't born within 35,000 km of Toronto?  And you think Crosby will still be playing in 3 years?

Is there any concrete reporting on what the player is wrestling with? I don't feel entitled to such information, but oftentimes we hear things nonetheless.

No clue what it is exactly but figuring substance abuse or mental health problems since that's what the assistance program is for.

I was going to point this out as well…sad for knight and his family. I wonder how much the panthers knew of this situation they traded Devon

It probably happened after he was traded (not saying because of it).  He looked like a prospect on the rise, albeit after playing just 4 games in 2020-2021.  Got a more extensive look in 2021-2022 and didn't cut it so he got sent down to the AHL,where he's not dominating.  That can be pretty hard on the ego.

I would assume that many see him as inadequate because, despite some very good games, he has stopped pucks at a below league average rate overall, by just about any metric you can find.

It’s fine if you believe that he will be a good (or even great!) starter going forward, but he simply has not produced a substantial body of work that shows a trend in that direction.  He has been alright for a young goalie, and he can certainly continue to improve, but his performance simply has not tracked with what you would expect from a future top end goalie.

I don’t think you should be surprised that most people need to see more from UPL before they buy into him as a good long term starter.

Give him until his 8th season…

We don’t need to kvetch this hard over whether Levi will be the answer several years from now.  We need a dude to stop pucks at slightly better than league average from low until then.  That dude is not here.

I don't agree.  If the Sabres played tight defense, I would.

SDS, we had a good Levi thread going and it got misdirected and then closed.  If there's another way to do this, please let me know, and I'll try it that way, but I think we could have a thread about the most exciting goalie prospect in decades.  There is the "Get to Know Devon Levi" thread that I started right after the Reinhart trade, but I think that's stale.

Look up "Go Fast" and "Gimbal" declassified clips from the Navy. If you still can't believe it after watching those, then you simply aren't going to no matter what is shown to you.

I saw them and they certainly seem like they could be UFOs.  Again I'll wait for more confirmation.  It's not like not believing in them will prevent them from invading Earth after we shot down one (or more) of their spacecrafts.

Why? The Pentagon basically admitted they exist within the past year and the military knows they exist because they stalk their nuclear submarines on a regular basis. Also, where do you think the name for the band "Foo Fighters" came from?  That's what pilots flying in WW II called UFO's because they were all over the place.

I get people want to believe none of this actually exists so they don't have to process what this means for everything from our place in the universe to their religious beliefs to a whole host of other things, but people aren't going to have much of a choice soon...there is a reason for this about face pivot from the US Government in the past few years on this, and all I will say is it should be an interesting decade going forward as the veil is pulled away a little more each year with what they tell the public.

I can believe they exist but I'll need more proof.  But if they were UFOs and we shot them down...

Balloons don't do what the pilots that shot it down claim it was doing(at least the Alaska one). Also pretty sure highly trained military pilots could easily discern if these objects were balloons.  Always baffles me when people actually believe most of these reports...as if Military pilots would write a report about a balloon they saw. It would be like saying a trained vet wouldn't be able to identify a Black Lab properly if you brought it to his office.

So they were UFOs?  That could be considered an even bigger conspiracy theory.
