Ok, then there are too many "young" unskilled players on the team. My point was they don't have enough skill players. Compare with top 10 rosters...it's a joke and been a joke for quite sometime. The franchise doesn't get it.

This team doesn't have nearly enough "skill" players- smart guys that can handle the puck and bury it when it counts. They are short a true #1 center and a very good second line wing. Lindy can coach them into a solid "team".. install his system...give them 20-25 games, which means missing the playoffs..again.......BUT they do not have the skill to make the plays consistently enough to turn the corner. This team will have the same issues that the team was having when Lindy left 14 years ago- can't get it done by just working their tails off. Effort only goes so far!!!! This franchise just doesn't get it. Blue collar mentality won't get it done.

The "problem" is the Sabre's unfortunately aren't close to being a Stanley cup contender roster wise. Why is the goal being lowered to "just making the playoffs?" If this is the goal now, then some more moves by Adams should be made NOW and the heck with thinking 2-3 years down the road.(Young prospects might need to be sacrificed ) If your goal is to contend for the cup and go deep in the playoffs, Tage and Tuch aren't both going to be playing on the top line when that happens. Line 2 is realistic. Presently IMHO we don't have a REAL first line. We're 2 elite wingers short with this young, present roster. This will take more than a season. So back to my question, what's the goal...right now, what's the goal?

I'd love to get a true, proven 1c, Ryan O'Reilly type for at least 2/3 years and move Thompson and Cozens down to 2c and 3c. Krebs 4c or trade him.

II haven't contributed/responded on sabrespace since Lindy being let go and the ushering in of the now famous Tank/Rebuild. I'm excited about the hire and look forward to Lindy's footprint on this team...Figuratively and perhaps literally?? I'm back with Lindy!!
