Tough game against a tough opponent and we didn't answer the bell. We looked slow from the get go and besides the 2nd period (the best I've seen them play), did nothing to deserve the win. We gave up too many odd man rushes as pointed out by Lindy, made horrible mental mistakes, and basically were out classed by the Stanley Cup Champs to no ones surprise. The bottom line, the team needs to win the next 3. They are all winnable games against teams that are in the same spot we are, which is vying for a playoff spot. Win all the winnable games and steal some wins against established perennial playoff teams. That's the recipe to break the playoff drought. -
Where's Kulich?

Rasmus Dahlin launches foundation to improve kids' lives in WNY

The Sabre's sponsored Learn-To-Play program is amazing and is how my 7 yr old was introduced to hockey! Didn't know until now that it is sponsored by Dahl's and Tuch's foundations, love them even more now! -
Absolutely agree! I believe he has an oblique injury (just my thoughts) as it would explain the upright posture, lack of juice on his shot and long exit passes, lack of power in his skating strides, and his hesitancy to jump into more offensive plays. If that is the case, could be a long time before we see a healthy Dahls as those injuries impact every movement and take forever to truly heal.

This is without a doubt a MUST WIN game for the players. They need it, proves the way they are playing is working, will work, and gives Lindy more and more credibility with each win. These boys are fragile. With every win comes more confidence in Lindy's system and in themselves. The players NEED to win!

I agree that Cozens has been horrible and he drives me nuts as well. His play over the last 2 season has been almost as disappointing as missing the playoffs again. Quinn, is a ghost! I didn't even know he was on the ice last night. He looks like a shell of his former self before the injury. Where I strongly disagree is with the 4th line. I think they have played with speed, pace, and tenacity! To be honest, I'm fine with the play of every line except the 2nd line, they have been atrocious and a liability every time they touch the ice. UPL needs to pick it up. Every time he needed to come up with a save, he folded! I don't know how you start the game the way they did, then come back only to lose the lead with under a minute left to losing in OT! Only the Sabres continued ineptness makes that ending possible. (I used the return button for Inky 😉) -

Greenway played an excellent game last night!

I was glad to see the arena so filled, I was worried when I first arrived that it wouldn't be as full as it was. I thought the Sabres played an excellent game, but it is evident that we have a problem in our top 6. Nobody is scared of us. I don't know if we are snake bit as Lindy eluded to or we are lacking talent. All I hear is how much talent we have, yet nothing proves that in regards to results. I have seen Kulich play with the big club a number of times now and for someone who is supposed to be untouchable in trade talks, he's done nothing! Where's Quinn, TNT, Cozens. JJ, or Tuch? Hell, the goal Tuch scored was plan luck. He shot it directly into Kuemper's glove and got lucky it popped straight back out and there was nobody within 5 feet of him! I thought Dahlin played an excellent game except for a 5 second brain fart. I was settling back into my seat when Kopitar scored his 2nd goal, so I didn't see the ridiculous give away in our own end. That is what needs to change in his game, from time to time he gets lackadaisical with the puck. Besides that, Dahls was our best player by far shutting down drives, initiating drives with excellent long outlet passes, dropping down into the zone offensively to extend plays, and man handling the Kings with his physicality. Give away excluded (I understand he does this from time to time and it is inexcusable), what the hell else is the guy supposed to do! If the top 6 can't score, we will continue to lose! And people are saying to bench Dahlin?? Why do we constantly blame our best players? It was ROR when he was here, then Eichel, now Dahlin! Unreal! The one to be benched is freaking Samuelsson! Sammy is an absolute waste and cost us the game and at the very least a loser's point! He plays like a cotton ball, bringing nothing offensively, and that disgusting slashing penalty when were already down a man just cannot happen. Hockey suicide as Lindy so eloquently put it. What does he bring to this team besides being an injury risk? NOTHING! Our bottom 6 is drastically improved and has looked the part. The fact that Adams didn't capitalize on this teams success 2 years ago in the summer, when FA's actually wanted to come here, is inexcusable and now the organization is paying the price! FRUSTRATED BEYOND BELIEF!

Any news on JJ's injury and his potential length of absence? -
What did you answer "no" to? Injuries don't impact performance and stats?
-
Absolutely and depending on the injury their numbers go down. Do you not think we should take that into consideration? Especially seeing how it was a hand injury. This year will cement him one way or another. Agree?
