  1. Disappointed in season 2. Stories are much weaker and after a while, Natasha Lyonne is too one note. Stopped watching after episode 7. Watched the Billy Joel documentary on HBO. Thought it was a good documentary and gave me new insight to him. However, I left finding him kind of unlikeable.
  2. I remember seeing Black Sabbath concert when I was in college -- in the early 70's It was an out door concert at Manhattan College in the Bronx, which was right by the overhead subway. It was the loudest concert I had ever been to. It was so loud that it drowned out the sound of the trains passing by. I thought Black Sabbath was one of the true pioneers of the heavy metal sound. They were one of the few groups to write their songs primarily in minor scales, which gave them a unique sound. Thought Tony Iommi was a hell of a guitarist, and thought Ozzy had a great rock voice. Those days will be missed.
  3. They should throw money at a power play specialist. They should also let Lindy pick his own assistant couches and get rid of these bozos.
  4. I never read any of the Reacher books but Alan Ritchson seems to be too "neanderthal" to be such a super-sleuth. He seems more like the incredible hulk than someone who has the high intelligence of a super MP.
  5. I think Tom Cruise is a very good actor. My wife and I always discuss the importance of distinguishing between Tom Cruise the actor (Born on the 4th of July, Risky Business, Mission Impossible 1, Rain Man, The Color of Money, The Firm) and Tom Cruise the person (who appears to be a jerk).
  6. I miss the great action series on HBO like Strike Back and Banshee. Also miss programs like The Americans and Justified. Enjoyed the first two seasons of Perry Mason on HBO. Has anyone heard anything about a third season?
  7. I enjoyed Reacher Seasons 1 & 2, but wasn't crazy about Season 3. By not having a larger supporting casting, it highlights the limitation of the actor playing reacher (he's no Tom Cruise). Started watching the Amanda Seyfried limited series on Peacock, Long Bright River. Watched 3 episodes and have been generally enjoying it. Watched Paradise on Hulu. It is similar to Silo in premise but not as good.
  8. It has always been gross. Even before the recent trend of employee's wearing plastic gloves when cutting the meat, Arby's has been doing this for years -- nobody wants to touch it.
  9. Not sure what to make of Dahlin's recent comments, that the team appears to be coming together. They come in context of his supposed comment about turn it around or I'm out, the trade of Dylan Cozens, and the recent signings and additions. The following are possible: He is doing damage control regarding his comment about turn it around turn it around or I'm out. He thought that Cozens was a drag on the team on the ice (and possibly in the locker room?) He has been talking to Ruff and we now know that Ruff talks directly to Terry Zucker and Greenway resigned. Thoughts?
  10. I get the need to stick up for teammates, but the real issue is the lack of strong fundamentals: getting out of own's zone, not taking the third period off (pedal to the metal mentality), having players in front of the other goalie's net, avoiding turnovers, finishing one's checks and situational awareness.
  11. If we had a healthy Greenway and Dahlin, would not have had a 13 game losing streak. Everything might have been different.
  12. Not sure who the leaders are on the Sabres. Don't think Dahlin is a leader. I thought Tuch might be, but he seems very quiet. Our most fiery players are Zucker and Krebs. Like that they show passion. Zucker might have leader qualities, but not sure he is a permanent piece. A quandary!! In the absence of clear leaders, wish we had the old Lindy rather than Yoda.
  13. Nobody, maybe Seth Appert if he becomes head coach. Unlike baseball, there is no designated hitter in hockey. You have to play both offense and defense. I always thought Granato's comment was insane and spoken more like a development coach than a head coach.
  14. Moe, Larry & Curly.
  15. The one acoustic guitar I owned was the Gibson Everly Brothers, which was a beautiful guitar. An interesting story about the 1958 Les Paul. I believe this was the model Jimmy Page used. The other guitarist in the band obtained the Les Paul from a guy in Brooklyn. Believe it was in the original case (pink plush interior) with the tags on it. I never heard a guitar this powerful sounding before. In those days the pickups were wound by hand. After my friend sold it, he was informed by the buyer that one of the pickups was broken -- only one of the coils was working. However, at the time, when we compared it to the Les Paul guitars made at the time (mid 1970s) this guitar, even with its broken pickup blew the other guitar away. Apparently they are currently making copies of the old Les Pauls, (the copies are quite expensive) but I have yet to hear one of them.
