Kevyn Adams, press conference Dec 27th, 2021
Dreams Burn Down replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
You are, but that doesn't make it any less hilarious and apropos. -
After following the Sabres through a desert of malaise the last few years, I'll latch onto any positive development, even if it bleeds into overreaction. Will Owen Power translate to the NHL? I have no idea. All I do know is that he's in our pipeline and that fills me with hope. Right now, hope is all I've got, even if it's that of a fool.

What a gut check performance from this team. I am so proud of them. Allen played at an MVP level, spread it out from the start, and made plays out of nothing. The defense got a lot of penetration today which helped. It didn't appear that Mac Jones was expecting it. The last ten quarters of football show that the Bills may be peaking at the right time.

I was in the reds behind the Sabres net in OT for that game. It happened so quickly and was so stunning. This and the Brad Park game seven OT goal in '83 were the most traumatic goals from my youth.

Sabres hosting outdoor game in Hamilton Ont.
Dreams Burn Down replied to pastajoe's topic in The Aud Club
Throughout the entirety of this drought, my thoughts have often gone back to the '70s Sabres and what those teams built, from the fan base, to a winning tradition. We never won a Cup, I know, but I think back to the solid foundation that those teams built. It seems like these last few years have all, but squandered it. It is really sad. -

Hopefully the foot injury is healing, but, otherwise, let him loose. Hopefully, Daboll mixes things up today. You just know that Darth Hoodie will have some surprises for us.

It's a Wonderful Life, Lindy — 22 Years On
Dreams Burn Down replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
I know I'm wearing rose colored glasses, but I miss Lindy Ruff. -
My natural reaction to the Devon Levi news is muted only because most times the next "big things" on the Sabres don't pan out for whatever reasons. The kid does seem like a diamond in the rough, though. Whoever it will be, I'll be so relieved when we finally find a true franchise starting goaltender. It's only been a few years since Ryan Miller left, but it feels like an eternity. I miss not having to worry about it.

I was at that show and, I have to say, when Ben Mink came out to perform Losing It, I very nearly did.

I received a good complement of Sabres and Bills swag including a soft blanket for my nightly TV snooze.

Goaltending Suddenly A Bright Spot For Sabres?
Dreams Burn Down replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
I usually take a wait and see approach with Sabres goaltending. However, what I've seen over the last few games has me excited to the point that I was disappointed to see that Mr. Anderson is healing up. For the next little while, I'd just like to see a steady dose of UPL and Subban. Win or lose, I'd like this to play out for a bit. -
Unfortunately, this looks like just the beginning. I know that it's out of necessity, but I'm mildly surprised that the NHL seems to be taking the lead on this.

I remember when the Rigas family bought the team. It felt like a breath of fresh air. Similarly, I felt this way when the Pegulas came along. All that I want, is an owner who doesn't end up in leg shackles and knows how to get out of the way of the management he or she brings on board.

The Leafs are number one for me. Their fans are boorish and cocky, even when the Leafs aren't having a good year. Second is Ottawa. I still haven't recovered from being their bitch in the oughts. Honorable mention: Dallas Stars
