This is not a serious hockey organization.

If Greenway is on the top line, Lindy should be immediately dismissed on principle alone. -

The "coaching search" was the last straw for me with Adams. Zero effort. Nada. None. He made the laziest hire possible and thought he'd get away with it because Lindy would ride in on this glorious wave of nostalgia from when the Sabres were last a competent hockey organization. Never mind that he was a below average coach, at best, who had made the playoffs just 3 times in 11 years after the Sabres fired him. Piss off. -
What good could come of that? Everytime he speaks publicly he sticks his foot in his mouth.

Three headed goalie monster coming to an end?

UPL - He is what he is. An average (at best) NHL backup. He had a pretty good two month stretch two years ago but is largely mediocre. Let's in too many soft goals. Lousy lateral movement and positioning. Horrific rebound control. Lyon - Was a good story the first couple of weeks but has regressed back to the mean. He's a sub .900 guy who should be used very sparingly if you have ANYONE else. Ellis - Need to see more. Last few starts haven't been good. Has some skill that is evident, but not sure he's a full-time NHL 'er yet. He should be getting steady starts. Levi - At some point you need to see what he has. We know what UPL is. We know what Lyon is. Devon needs his chance soon. -
Dahlin - I'm giving him a pass for his degraded play this year due to all the personal stuff he's dealing with. Coming into this season I think he was a legitimate top-10 defenseman. TNT - His inconstancy can be frustrating, but he's the most gifted offensive player we have. Plus he seems to have developed a mean streak. Zucker - Just a hard-nosed, greasy guy that does a little bit of everything. Doan - Same as Zucker but a dozen (I think) years younger. Benson - Our little ball of hate. Plays with max effort every shift. Playmaking has improved this year. Needs to start scoring more goals. I think the Sabres did his development a disservice by throwing him right in the frying pan at 18 on a bad team. Norris - (when healthy) is a very talented offensive centreman who plays a pretty responsible two-way game. McLeod - Fastest guy on the team, outstanding penalty killer, doesn't wow defensively, but I feel like he's one of our better forwards in that aspect. Tuch - On the fence here. Before this season, he was an excellent player. I think the losing is wearing on him because I don't think he's giving full effort on a lot of shifts. Guys like Kulich, Ostland, and Rosen are just potential right now. Muel has been good this year. Power and Byram can kick rocks. The rest of the forwards I wouldn't even notice if they were gone...same for the goalies.

I guess I'm remembering that part incorrectly. I do remember times it was really good (like you point out), but overall I guess not. Still, the offense from about the midpoint of 2021/22 and the 2022/23 were quite fun to watch. Of course the D was atrocious and when Granato tried to emphasize that more in 2023/24 the offense dried up. I still think Granato's teams looked better coached overall, not that they were particularly good, just that it too often looks like Lindy's teams don't even practice.
