I gave up on this team/organization as currently constructed during the 13 game losing streak. That was it for me. Until KA is fired and a capable GM is brought in, along with hopefully a POHO to buffer Terry from any kind of operational decisions, I have zero hope in the Sabres going anywhere. That said, I will still watch and root for them because they're my team and have been for 35 years. I just have zero expectations.

Man, seems like the opener against NJ was just yesterday. Another wildly disappointing season limps to a finish. I won't be watching (or will at least miss most of it) because of a prior engagement and I'm not sad about that. Apathy is a bitch. Win, lose, whatever. Hoping for some surprises this offseason (Adams fired, aggressive moves to improve the roster), but not expecting much of anything at all.

Eichel 2025 - 76G, 27/66/93...Eichel BUF Average - 63G, 23/36/59 Reinhart 2025 - 79G 39/42/81...Reinhart BUF Average - 65G, 19/23/42 I know it's not apples/apples as players tend to improve as their careers go on and there's no way they would have produced at this level on these teams, but they both look like different players since they left this poverty organization.

There's is no chance I can stomach watching/listening to this, so I won't. I'll just read the low-lights. Anything short of "we have unequivocally failed and I'm resigning effective today", which obviously won't happen, is *****. I'm tired of platitudes.

God, ***** OFF. Not you @Thorner, this polecat organization. Not that this surprises me at all, but doesn't make seeing it unfold any less infuriating.

With the added bonus it was easy. There were good coaches available last summer (Berube, Evason, McClellan, Keefe). There's no indication the Sabres reached out to a single one of them. They made the easy hire hoping some nostalgia from the last time the Sabres were relevant would pacify the fans. Lindy's track record since leaving Buffalo the first time was spotty at best. This GM is incompetent.

Unfortunately, yeah. I would KILL to have a team that just GETS to the playoffs right now. Being invested in games in March and April is amazing. We sorta had that in 2023 and that ended up just being a big tease. Technically I guess we were "in it" last year, but who really thought that team had it in them to make the necessary push? I sure didn't. I just want a team that plays solid hockey all year and keeps me invested. And that doesn't mean a team that plays ***** hockey for 3-4 months then decides to start actually playing the last few weeks only to fall short because they dug too deep of a hole.

Right now, it's pretty obvious there's a succession plan in place with the current FO construct. I (and a lot of others) have said Lindy is a 2 year HC as a bridge to Appert who is obviously Kevyn's boy. That would be disastrous. This organization needs an enema. A clean break from the organizational stink permeating it. That means the GM and ALL of the coaches. Why the ***** does Matty Ellis still have a job here??? They're in a very precarious position now. If they maintain the status quo, you're just kicking the can down the road yet another year and it's all but guaranteed the drought reaches 15 years. Each year you fail, you're losing more of the fanbase and giving the talent you DO have (TNT, Dahlin, Tuch...probably Benson, Peterka, Kulich, Power) a shorter runway. They cannot keep doing this.

They absolutely have to. They need to totally clean house: from the GM, to the coaching staff, all of it. This team is stuck in the mud. There's been no forward momentum. They teased it in 2022/23 then fell back in 2023/24, and regressed again this year. It's literally going backwards. Each year of poor results pushes more and more fans a way and you aren't onboarding many new ones. Ther is no buzz around this team. Attendance sucks, opposing fans fill your building when the Quebec/Ontario teams visit. Social media engagement (which is huge) is in the toilet. It's all bad. Most of us still around are the diehards from 20-30 years ago and with each failing year it gets harder to get them (the casual fan, or probably 80% of your fan base) back. They NEED to pull the plug, but I have zero faith in the owner to do what's so obviously needed.

I'm sure there's someone worse and I'm sure that's who they'll hire when they fire Adams in 2028.

So many fans get to root for teams that are in the playoffs every year or almost every year, competing for cups. They have enjoyable hockey seasons. Then there's us. There's a generation of Sabres fans that have no idea what it's like to watch the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a rooting interest. How you live and die with every game. Though I question how big that group of fans is. How many 10-25 year olds really give a ***** about the Sabres. They've been dog ***** for as long as they can remember. I remember being excited about Sabres hockey in March, April, May, even June a couple of times. Now the season ends in November every ***** year. I'm tired of this *****.
