So I guess now we're onto the question - when the team puts up 75 points and misses the playoffs for the 15th straight year next year, will THAT be enough to get KA fired? Nobody kicks the can down the road like the Buffalo Sabres.

I try to analyze it, too; but the only thing I can come up with that makes any kind of sense is Terry just doesn't care about the Sabres. At all. As long as the brand isn't hemorrhaging money, whatever. There is not a single viable hockey excuse for KA to get another season, yet here we are. They spent all last summer harping on accountability, the season was a failure, yet here we are. The team has gone backwards two straight seasons under KA's guidance, yet here we are. KA dusted off Lindy to right his ship, he failed, yet here we are. The Sabres have been a punchline for years now, nobody takes the organization seriously, yet here we are. Terry doesn't care. The owner is an absentee landlord.

Hard to believe the Wings just missed for the 9th straight. They were a model organization for so long. They've managed to almost fall back to the Dead Things. Similar situations to us, though. They've drafted reasonable well, but Yzerman has failed to build a coherent roster around them. He made a decent trade for DeBrincat, but other than that, a lot of very questionable veteran signings.

Well - it's not unheard of. Detroit is doing it right now with the "Yzerplan." Stevie Y just completed his 6th season with no playoffs and has made as many bad/questionable moves as KA. But, difference is he's a franchise icon. Adams was a JAG player.

At the risk of repeating myself - because this is not a serious hockey organization. 🤷‍♂️

I honestly don't care who/what they pick. I'm tired of draft picks. Start trading some of them for players that can help NOW.

He's looked like UPL at his worst this series. He just isn't a good playoff goalie.

For as good as Hellebuyck is in the regular season, he's been a lousy playoff goalie. Last three post seasons - .886, .864, .822 (before tonight). Feels like he has the yips this series.

Guess we'll find out how good he is without Crosby/Malkin/Letang. After their cup runs in his first two seasons, he was pretty damn underwhelming... 2018 - Bounced EC Semis 2019 - Swept first round 2020 - Bounced first round 2021 - Bounced first round 2022 - Bounced first round 2023 - No playoffs 2024 - No playoffs 2025 - No playoffs So, they didn't win a playoff series in his last 7 years, and missed the playoffs the last 3. They had all kinds of roster issues from about 2021-on as their big-3 aged and they struggled to put good complementary pieces around them. That Karlsson trade will always boggle my mind. But, yeah, results haven't been very good for quite a while.

Yep. They have a bright future. Nice young core with Suzuki, Caufield, Hutson, Slaf, Demidov and a good compliment of vets like Anderson, Gallagher, Evans, Dvorak, Armia. They understood the assignment.

They do look good, but I've been impressed with the Habs. They're young and have been a game opponent. As we sit here going backwards, in the last 5 years the Habs have made a surprise run to the Cup Final, tore it down almost to the studs, rebuilt and returned to the playoffs. Their arrow is pointing up. We're going the other way and don't appear too eager to do anything about it.

Watching real hockey teams like the Panthers-Lightning duke it out makes me so mad.

The Oilers are something else with their back to the wall.

Cozens is playing a good game. Wish we got this version of him more frequently.
