Reading comprehension isn't your strength,  is it?

It wasn’t meant to be a shot toward you.

The future looking bright has been a fan narrative for the last three rebuilds.  It was me just having a little fun with the concept as an aside to your analysis is all.

And therein lies the rub.  Terry wants involvement, not just information.  I have said this a lot, if you want a big name coach with NHL experience, then you better be prepared to give him roster input.  If not, then you have to get lucky and hit on a first timer.  So far no luck in that department despite have many talent young players come and go over the years.

Someday we might see one of his kids running the team.

You have steadfastly stated that Pegula meddles. I think that has waned over the years. GMKA has the keys now. Terry has the Bills and to take care of his ailing wife.  Plenty of posters on this board think he doesn’t even care about the Sabres. I don’t believe he’s pulling the strings of the marionette like he once was.

As I have said over and over, I'm not on the fire Granato bandwagon.  Its not that I am assured he is a great coach, I think he is "OK". But my problem is, put most coaches in the Sabres position, with what I THINK is a somewhat 'meddling' owner, a desire to allow assistant coaches that are good to go elsewhere and replace them with lower priced guys, and an overall lack of Pegula willing to put up assets/dollars to push this franchise forward.....well...I'm not sure any good coaches will want the job, and any other 'average' coaches won't do much better with the assets to back them up.

You could change coaches and they might improve next year, but that would be more because the team is 'maturing' and 'aging up' if it does happen.  Before a head coach or GM change happens, I want to see a greater comittement from ownership to support the franchise in other ways (assistant coaches, development, etc.)

I understand what you are saying. I’m trying to keep the convo focused on coaching, so it is ok if you don’t agree or don’t reply.

The Sabres have tried literally everything at the head coaching position through these rebuilds.
The old standby/old favorite Nolan, Stanley Cup experienced Bylsma (after getting stood up by Babcock), the consensus up and comer Housley, the outside the box hire of Krueger, and what I would call the experiment of Don Granato and his development focus and minor league history.

I hear your aging up point, but I expected that this season. That may be on the coach.

I have defended Meatballs and I think ultimately the failure is on the GM.  But the sword will fall on the coach and an experienced guy will be brought it.

Oh my comment wasn't on the money aspect. It was on the "team needs to show stability in coaching and management dept" aspect.

After all, that was the big bitch by many, not a stable environment.

So this kinda blew my mind. Don Granato is the fourth most tenured head coach in Sabres HISTORY. They stood by the guy, but it is absolutely defensible to move on.

Those of us that live here have been waiting so long to get things straightened out, it seemed for a moment that it might just happen this time.

The organization has stockpiled high draft picks the past few seasons,  a ridiculous amount.  The future looked bright on the ice,  but could never get it right off of it.

I don't believe for 1 second it's happening. His extension kicks in for what? 2 more years? Ya, I've prepared myself for 2 more years of this garbage.

Someone said Tyson Jost got paid more this year to play in the AHL than Meatballs annual salary. The cost is not prohibitive to move on.

I’m at the point where I will massage myself into being ok with Quenville being hired as next coach if the NHL reinstates him.  Give me a successful seasoned coach and let me see this team with a guy that gets results.

Nooooooo don’t go there.  You won’t like yourself in the morning.

Rochester was 100% cloud cover and the experience was still surreal. It was like my world was on an hyper aggressive dimmer switch. The birds stopped. The flowers looked down. You knew this “shouldn’t” be happening and it was. It was the coolest and quietest  few minutes.  And then it was like someone turned the power back on.

My question for you is how did your experience differ with the glasses on? Was the demise of light as noticeable? How did the sun v moon visual enhance the experience?

It's not being built in Scottsdale so why does he have a say?

Your instinct was correct and he has no say. The Mayor of Scottsdale is complaining about the land being close to downtown Scottsdale, but it's Phoenix land, and the land development plan that the Coyotes got approved by the city council has nothing at all to do with Scottsdale.

Even the submitted arena proposal shows the water infrastructure will be coming from Phoenix.

Any press is good press for the Mayor, I guess.

They need one more point to make the playoffs.  I think they will be fine.

The new goal is to avoid the play-in round. Then win the division. Thank goodness we have this team. The Sabres are cooked, but I’m not ready to give up hockey yet.

My question to you is this: Most of us on here have been fans of this once proud hockey club since its inception or since the 70's (such as myself) We have seen wonderfully talented players and some truly magical moments here. A vibrant, thriving arena experience and electricity on game nights. Perhaps you haven't had that? We have had Sabres clubs that weren't all that talented but came to the arena and worked their ***** off every night (The first Nolan era) They were a pleasure to watch and spend money on. It would be nice after 13 excruciatingly long seasons to get that back don't you think? Do you as a Sabres fan , NOT DESERVE BETTER???!!!! Of course you do!!! Demand better!!!! Stop accepting mediocrity or all you'll get is mediocrity. YOU DESERVE BETTER!

You really told em on an anonymous message board lol

Mr Allen tried to come to this Bills topic with info that he received and was told he was wrong and to stop getting all his info from the media.
The info I was trying to share was not speculation.  It was well known knowledge inside the Buffalo Bills organization.
I understand I acted like a douche to those two posters.  But go and look, ink came at me first. Acting if I was an idiot who gathers info from the media.  It’s hard having patience with fans and posters like them.  Just watch, they continue to flip flop but yet continue to act as if they are still always correct.  Is fine.  It’s cool.  I just don’t need to listen to guys like them.

What information did your share? You said drama and issues. Did you share anything specific?

  13. Uh oh. Defenseman Joseph Cecconi along with forwards Tyson Kozak and Brett Murray are all out week-to-week with upper-body injuries.

Cecconi & Murr were both in scraps the last game.

Also, it was announced earlier in the week that defenseman Riley Stillman had surgery and is done for the year.

That’s a lot of injuries to overcome.
