  1. This has happened before elsewhere. Nov 2014 in Toronto:

A day after neglecting to salute the crowd following a win on home ice, Toronto Maple Leafs players said the non-gesture was not intended as a shot at their fans.

Some speculated that the players were angry with their fans, a small number of whom have thrown team merchandise onto the ice during losses this season, and a larger number of whom  expressed their displeasure as the struggling team lost recent back-to-back games to Buffalo and Nashville by a combined score of 15-4.

This by no means was an attack on our fans or anything personal,” Phaneuf said. “This was about our team and changing up our routine.”

    Forward James van Riemsdyk agreed.

“We have great respect for our fans…this by no means was an attack on our fans or anything personal.”

Credit to the veteran Sabres player who at least was honest, I guess? Obligatory F the Leafs

And then there is a look back on salute-gate three years later:

If you are upset that the players aren't saluting the fans are you not just as soft?

Lord, if it bothers you that much you really should just stop paying attention to this team.  You are upset because players don't skate to the middle of the ice in a completely unorganized manner and lift a stick?  That just screams that people are looking for even more reasons to be mad about this team. There are plenty of reasons related to the actual performance of the team. Don't torture yourselves looking for more reasons.

I didn't care, I still don't care, and I am not going to care what the ever-loving hell these players do other than their performance on the ice.

The bolded, I’m learning that’s not how it works. In this thread, I learned that “we” pay their salaries. So how dare they?

I learned that the players are being woke snowflakes.

That Kyle is a dipsh*t with an endgame to harm the team. And the players are effing idiots.

It appears whatever was left of the rational fanbase has finally hit their breaking point.

We are down to Dahlin, Clifton, Joker, Byson, and 2 Johnsons.   Clague is the 7th D.

That does not mean we are going 7/11

You’re correct that it doesn’t indicate 11/7, but don’t be surprised if it happens during Power’s absence.  The Sabres are still protecting RoJo’s minutes and running Henri out there 24 minutes a night isn’t going to do anyone any good.

  4. The prices of parts and labor for vehicle repairs is absurd. The posted labor rate at the West Herr in ROC is $150/hour.

Add in a control arm at $545, another $180 on parts for oil gaskets (oil cooler gasket and upper & lower intake gaskets), an oil change, a tire rotation, a state inspection, an alignment, labor & tax…that is $1388.

How do people afford this life?? Does everyone just make more money than me haha

The Reilly thing got me thinking. If there actually was a penalty for the Ottawa guy being a douche, what would the signal be for the call?

Now I’m dreaming up ways to make the empty net goal even more spectacular to hurt Morgan Reilly’s feelings.

In all alone from the red line, how about a wrap around Michigan goal? That ought to get someone killed lol

  6. From Kevin O (Amerks HOF beat reporter):

From Appert’s explanation, part of the thought process obviously is about giving Kulich some time off.

Since returning from the World Junior Championship in early January, he has gone 10 games without a goal, the longest stretch of his young career, and hasn’t been all that dangerous in many of those games.

“Last year I think he played 110 games between summer World Junior, winter World Junior, our season, rookie camp, training camp, playoffs right to early June,” Appert said. “This year training camp, rookie camp, our season, World Junior. And then the set up for the All-Star Game, you’re set up to crush these guys.”

Honestly, the Sabres could use both these scumbags

This is a tough one. I’ve never seen a hit get that much head while also not looking like head hunting.

Those spaghetti legs didn’t look good. Hope Acciari is alright.

The question wasn't about liking or disliking individual players/people. It was about the team.

I find the team to be unlikable. I don't have to like a Sabres team because I'm a fan. As an American I don't have to like a particular Congress or Administration.

God willing this team as we know it will be toast by next fall. Many will of course remain. Some of them that have contributed to a poor season will be the same player with different results, like Tage and Rasmus. Others will be the same young players starting to enter their prime, like Cozens and Peterka maybe.

In the interest of personally attacking me as a poster and fan, you totally whiffed on the question.

And Rasmus was dumb and far too often still is.

Perhaps if you actually made a post to explain what your title was about, I could have responded more on topic.
My post was not a personal attack on you. If you felt attacked because I pointed out that you name call or insult players, that’s a you problem.

Me saying you should reevaluate your relationship to the team was well intended. If you’re not getting what you want or need from the relationship, then do something about it. If this post was you doing just that, then good on ya.

  9. Am I sucker for responding?

As a fan, I’m disappointed in the results. I do not dislike the team.  Actually, I like these guys.

Tage is slumping, but was a human highlight reel the last 1.5 years. I haven’t been this excited over a forward on this team since…ever? I am a little young for Mogilny, but I have some memories.

Cozens is a young man who leads by example. Tuch is exactly who I hoped he would be. Ras is a calm guy with a mean streak and plays the right way. JJP & Quinn are very likable.  Hard to dislike Okposo.  I root for Krebs. Skinner can be frustrating to watch, but dang he’s likable. He moans at the opponent, acts petulant, and then hosts Between 2 Stalls.

So yea, the results aren't acceptable. And I don’t hate them for it. And I am not going to call anyone dumb (like you have in the past).

I really think you need to reevaluate your relationship with this team.

If I am feeding a troll post, I apologize.
