Chad D: expect a Byram trade at or around the draft
Mr. Allen replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Let’s say we choose to keep Byram for this upcoming season. He won’t sign a long term contract but he won’t want to sit a year, right? Is that when it would go to arbitration? Is he likely to get paid big if he does? I say keep him unless some team is willing to overpay. Worst case we suck again next year and we trade him at the deadline. -

We have team control of Byram for one more year? -
Friedman- Sabres looking to move prospects for players

Was Krebs ever on the Top Prospect Team? (Joking). But I think Helenius has more value than Krebs ever did. Östlund is probably similar though. I just happen to like Östlund a lot. -

This thread took a turn…. -
I’m starting to get a sense that we aren’t making the pick at 9.
-
Actually, your offers are probably more realistic with Adams at the helm, but we like to dream here in Sabre space. Ha
-
You’re probably awesome as a person, but your trade offers are terrible. lol. The Bahl Klapka one is worse though. lol
-
Dang. That’s crazy. And some BS if/when it happens.
-
They want McKenna.

Maybe this is the way. Maybe Vegas and other teams who continue to trade for the correct players is the right way to go. They seem to find a way to let the bottom teams grow their draft picks and then trade for them at the right time. I honestly wish we could do that. But we have Kevyn Adams as GM and he is incapable of doing that. So I have to hope at some point these young kids finally put it together and we become a power house for many years to come because of the way we built this team
-
OK then. I’m guessing the average age of the people that have commented recently about trading our future to win now are a bit older. The ones of you where it comes across that you don’t seem to care about this team in 5 years. I’m 45. So I’ve been through the drought and I know what it’s been like. And I’m not saying don’t trade any of our prospects by the way. It’s just coming off by some of you that the future doesn’t matter to you at all and all you care about is winning now. And I don’t understand that.

Ok. Touché. But expansion.

I know these sports writer “experts” aren’t always right. But most lists I’ve seen have Byram as one of the top and priciest trade assets on the market. No reason he should pull in an underwhelming return. -
No. You stop thinking your way. lol. Look, I get it. It’s been way too long since we’ve been in the playoffs and people are getting impatient. But you can’t sacrifice your entire future just to put up a winning team finally. Because that success will be short lived. I’m young enough where I plan on being a fan in 10-20 years still. I hate seeing all these old and impatient fans getting mad when we might dare draft a player in the top 10 when he might not help us win “right now”. It’s ok if a player needs 2-3 years. We need those type of players too. Every successful franchise does.
-
And that’s fine. We need a future too
-
I’m excited to see him and Östlund battle it out for roles on this team.

I almost guarantee Brierre lowballed Adams. -

No way it’s only for a late 1st. And why target teams that have a second 1st? We want to make sure we don’t inconvenience teams too much in our trades? -
I was actually wondering if Tage would be a highly valued asset if we were to ever even consider trading him. I mean, with his goal scoring abilities and on that great contract…. Not many players of his caliber are on contracts that nice.
-
I’m sure just like with other coachable abilities, it’s all about willingness. If you don’t want to learn how to play defense, you’re not gonna. If you don’t want to learn to be tougher, you’re not gonna.
-
Ehhhh. You kind of can.

“Rangers Reportedly in 'Advanced Discussions' on Chris Kreider Trade with Ducks” Would this be more of a cap dump situation for the rangers?

I see what you’re saying now. I really like Cook and I understand why he’s doing what he’s doing (although I think putting his house up for sale cause he’s pissed is over doing it). But the NFL has shown how giving big deals to RB’s isn’t that smart. Especially teams that have an MVP QB who runs the show. There are definitely RB’s who deserve those big contracts. But Cook on this team unfortunately isn’t one of them.
-
Sure. He’s good at certain things. But I believe he was asking 15. And there’s a reason the big boys upstairs aren’t paying him. Beanne didn’t even try to sugar coat it. Simply said, no. Glad to see he showed up to camp though.

Bennett is going to get PAID after these playoffs. He’s been incredible.
