Who is the rest of the staff? Because Ellis and Wilford aren’t cutting it!
Can we get a James Patrick or Jay McKee for the D corps and a PP specialist on the staff as well please.
A younger coach who could succeed Ruff in a few years. I know everyone loves Peca. Someone like him as an associate HC (a promotion in title so he could leave the NYR) or someone of that ilk.
I think Adams wants Appert to remain with Rochester.

True. I think I remember when the Rags fired him there was talk that management felt he was too much of a players coach and Laviolette, despite his exterior demeanor, was considered more of a demanding hard ass.
Tuch played for him and had good things to say about him in his exit interview so that had value for me.
It was said that in exit interviews the players expressed they wanted a coach with more structure then Gallant.

Well, with a week going by since DG's termination, I'm inclined to think that KA's first choice isn't one of the guys who is currently available (i.e. Lindy, Gallant, Berube) -- although it's certainly possible that KA called one or more of them and got turned down.
Still, it seems more likely that his first choice is someone who is currently coaching in the playoffs, and he needs to wait for that guy's team to get bounced.
It would sure be nice if someone in WNY sports media had some info for us.
Maybe there is a chance with Brindamour. Maybe he wants to see if Quenneville gets reinstated. Maybe some of the coaches are waiting to see if some playoff teams get punted first round (Leafs) and a job opens up.
We have heard nothing about Ottawa, NJ or St Louis either though.

Georgiev is going to be a problem for the Avs

Rosen with 2 goals and blocks a painful shot in the last minute. Slaggert raises down the ice and gets boarded from behind but beats out the icing to end the game and secure the win.

Haven't been keeping up with the search. Have we interviewed anyone?
There has been no indication of any names being interviewed. Doesn’t mean they haven’t just that nothing has leaked out.

It will be interesting to see the Quenneville situation play out. If Bettman reinstates him he will have teams with coaches in place already that will be approaching him.
One point that a couple people have made is that Quenneville wrote a letter of recommendation for Aldrich that allowed him to get his next job. The official report says that is false:
“After leaving his employment with the Blackhawks, Aldrich went on to work and volunteer at USA Hockey, the University of Notre Dame, Miami University of Ohio, and Houghton High School.621 None of the witnesses we interviewed recalled anyone at the Blackhawks providing a written or verbal reference for Aldrich to his future employers. When interviewed, Aldrich stated that he did not list any Blackhawks employees as references on job applications, nor did he ask anyone from the Blackhawks to vouch for him or make any calls on his behalf.622 USA Hockey reported to us that they identified no records reflecting a reference provided for Aldrich by the Blackhawks.623 We gathered records from Miami University regarding Aldrich’s employment and found no evidence of references, whether written or oral, provided by the Blackhawks. Miami University published an investigative report on September 24, 2021, which stated that Aldrich did not provide references on his resume when he applied to Miami, that the then-head coach of Miami University’s hockey team received Aldrich’s name from the coach’s collegiate hockey connections, and that the head coach and others spoke to the University of Notre Dame about Aldrich and received favorable information.624 The Miami investigative report does not describe any references provided by the Blackhawks.625 The University of Notre Dame declined to share information or records with us, other than to confirm Aldrich’s dates of employment at the university. Houghton High School reported to us that they identified no records reflecting a reference provided for Aldrich by the Blackhawks.626 The head hockey coach at Houghton High School told us that Aldrich did not formally apply for volunteer hockey coaching positions in 2010 and 2012.627 The head coach explained that Aldrich’s uncle, who was the assistant coach in 2010, had told the head coach that Aldrich was not working and asked if the team could help Aldrich.628 In 2012, the team re-hired Aldrich as a volunteer based on his work as a volunteer in 2010.629 The head coach said that he did not contact the Blackhawks about Aldrich at any time.630”
I think the situation sucked and that Aldrich is a piece of garbage. The situation should have been handled better but it is important that the facts are out there too and not just hearsay.

I don’t remember hearing a post game presser like this the last couple years.😂

I’m fascinated by who they hire and how it affects the offseason.
Adams has been in this “can’t block the kids” mentality but I think that’s out the window.
His ass is over the flames and he needs results. The type of coach he wants is going to want some vet guys that fulfil specific roles in the lineup.

Just sign Pat Maroon. He goes to the Cup Finals every year😃

If we get rid of Skinner I'm all for it
Big if on getting rid of Skinner but Kane was really good coming off a serious hip surgery. He will probably be better next year with a summer of training. Give him a 2 year deal to finish off his career at home.

He extended it to 24 games tonight with an ENG to seal the series for Moose Jaw.

OK everyone has homework. Start looking up billionaires in the WNY, southern Ontario region.😃
I have heard about the Wegmans family and that guy mentioned Chris Sacca.

It will be very interesting to see who the approved investor will be as there is always potential for a larger sale down the road.

Yeah if 25% of the Bills are going up no way he isn’t fielding offers on atleast a portion of the Sabres.
I think at some point someone is going to have to make a statement or these rumors will run wild.
-
What is Pegula’s net worth? Wasn’t it close to $7 billion. Wonder why this is being done and will it mean something similar for the Sabres

I disagree, Levi was maddingly inconsistent this past season. I get his team mates did him no favors at times but still think expecting a guy two years out of college is NHL ready especially a goalie.
Would you trade Owen Power?
Would I trade Power?
I wouldn’t be looking to trade him but if it is a franchise changing type trade sure I would move him.

I think there will be a couple surprising/shocking trades this summer. I think Adams wants to shake this roster up and the new coach will have a say.

A ton of reasons to watch this team.

I believe in both of them. UPL finally looks like the Sudbury Wolves star. If Levi takes the Amerks on a long playoff run then I fully expect him to be the 1B next season.

Amazing that almost half the teams in the league have switched coaches in the last year

I can’t see Gallant and Terry getting along. Adam’s would have to do a lot of buffering.
Gallant or Berube if it’s not Ruff.
-
Forgot St. Louis is looking for a coach too.
Buffalo, Ottawa, NJ, St Louis currently looking for a head coach. Probably more teams after playoffs.
-
Adams ass is on the line here. He even said this is the last coach he will hire if it doesn’t work out.
Now is not the time for another first time coach who you hope works out.
Now is the time for a seasoned coach with a track record of success. Someone who can quickly put an effective system in place and has the respect of the players from the get go and can hold them accountable.
Peca is a promising assistant coach. He should have been moved up to the Sabres bench as an assistant this year. If he wants to be a head coach he will probably have to go down to the American League and run a bench for a couple years.
If Vegas lose in the first round I wouldn’t put it past that organization to can Cassidy. They don’t mess around.
Lindy Ruff officially hired as Sabres HC
