I agree I was just mentioning Turcotte fits that mold. If it were a serious trade discussion I am going after both.
-
You have got to be kidding me. We are at the point where Okposo needs to have a serious conversation about his future. He was playing well too.
-
Somewhere, Ralph Krueger threw his remote control through the television, got up and rage quit the game!đ
-
I missed what happened to Okposo. Good to see Ullmark back. Looks like The Drake will get the death spot when he is good to go.
-
If they draft Beniers and IF they traded with the Kings and Turcotte was part of the deal then Adams would be on track with his âidentityâ for the team: Cozens, Beniers, Turcotte would be the poster children for Sabres âfast, skilled, high effort, high character, 200 foot playersâ
-
There is a lot to unpack. 1) The Sabres donât have a desire to move Eichel. It will. E a result of him wanting out if it happens. 2) His no trade kicks in next summer. If nothing is resolves and he demands out after it is activated then you are stuck with a Hall situation. Eichel only wants to go to Boston, Boston lowballs you knowing you have no options. 3) Donât just dismiss the Dregers of the world. They are mouthpieces and agents know how to use them to get info out there. 4) If he is moved, L.A. is a great team to have interested. West Coast, you only see him a couple of times a year, and lots of young high end talent: Byfield, Turcotte, Kupari, Akil Thomas, Bjornfort, Kaliev, high draft picks. I think Eichel is sick of losing and there being no hope at the end of the tunnel. That may change if this team keeps improving. I think Eichel has no problem staying if things turn around here next season.

Like your idea. Only thing I might tweak is putting Bjork with Jack. They are friends who played together growing up. Bjork has the wheels to play with him and if Jack and Sam turn him into an offensive scorer then that is found money: Bjork Eichel Reinhart Skinner Cozens Ruots Asplund Mitts Tage Agree that VO would be the guy to move and see what you can get. Ruots adds everything he does at a fraction of the price.

I think Samuelsson grabs a spot by the throat next season. He is exactly what they need back there. Big, strong, physical, can skate and headman the puck. A true leader. Him and Borgen could be a McKee-Warrener type pairing for Buffalo. Bryson I see like McKenzie from the Bills. Electric player but you donât want him in every play. He would be a great 7th dman that you put in the lineup to change the pace, give a different look. I do like him.

I would like to hear what really happened with Chris Taylor. That is the only thing I see as pointing to âbad personâ but we donât know the details there.

Let everything play out, there are a dozen games left. You just added a major new voice in the mix in Karmanos and I believe more voices will be coming in after the season. If the team finishes like this for the next dozen games then you are stupid not to give him the job. Granato has completely changed the system and has gotten a bunch of depleted kids who just went thru an 18 game losing streak to believe in themselves. I think though that the additions of Ellis and Girardi are being overlooked. This staff has pulled a lot out of a group that other coaches havenât. Imagine this group with Eichel, McCabe, Ullmark, Girgs playing and Eakin, Reider, Miller, Irwin out. They took Boston to the shootout and beat Washington with Tokarski in net. IF the Sabres finish strong like this and the young kids continue to shine and they donât bring Granato back then they better make damn sure that the next coach isnât some head strong, play the vets type coach that stunts the kids again. How many coaching changes do they need to go through? If the season ends like it is going now then offer Granato a 2 year deal. Let him continue to develop the kids. If a couple years from now it looks like they need a different coach to get them over the playoff hump then so be it but this guy is working wonders with what he has been given.

âPietrangelo higher hockey IQ than Hughes at that age IMO. Othman vs Raty was as easy as it gets for us. Raty is not even on several NHL scouts lists anymore. It starts with his skating and goes on from there. He has not progressed as a player and we (and it seems many NHL team scouts) are done ranking him based on what we/they saw 3 years ago. â Quote from Mark Edwards, head of hockeyprospect.com. He also said a lot of scouts think this is one of the worst draft in years. No studs at the top and everyone after the 10th pick is a question mark.

22 year old Mitts, 20 year old Cozens, 18 year old Beniersđ

Defineâmoreâ. More what, reputation?
-
Can you imagine if they sit Eakin when The Drake arrives? This board might explodeđ
-
Even those 7 players are all over everyoneâs lists. Power seems to be settling in as 1st on a lot of lists but I donât think he is the best player.
-
It just shows how all over the map this year will be with a Covid season. Everyone will have a huge variation in their lists.

https://hockeyprospect.com/hockeyprospect-com-2021-nhl-draft-top-32-ranking-april/ A certain Finnish player isnât even ranked in the first round.
-
Hey Tom, I am newer on this board so I donât know if you have mentioned it before but do you have connections or hear things from people around the organization? You seem to have insight.
-
1) He isnât even a point per game, that is not âdestroyingâ a menâs league. 2) You arenât getting it. You canât compare Lundellâs year this year and say he would go above players in their draft year. I like Lundell, I would have been fine with the pick last season but saying he would easily be 1st this season is wrong.
-
No Lundell wouldnât. You canât count his draft+1 season against kids who are in their draft year. You just sound like a guy with an extreme bias for Finnish players who wants to crap on non Finnish players.
-
Your act just sounds like trolling. Lundell would not go number 1 easily in this draft. And Raty has had a disappointing season.
-
If we fall out of last place and pick 8 again god help us

Why? Who is the de facto number 1 pick they will miss out on? The draft experts donât even know. You are just a well off drafting 5th as 1st this season. This is the perfect year to win down the stretch. -

Hall had a beautiful pass to Sheahan, or I guess we now call it a giveawayđ -
What would you have done? Hall had a no trade and would only waive for Boston. Hall was absolutely awful this year and is making $8 million. What wizardry would have you pulled off with Boston? Staal has gone to Montreal and been worse then he was here which is shocking to believe. Getting two picks for him was more than fair. Montour was analytically one of, if not the worst defence man in the entire league. We are in last place because these guys were awful. Teams going for the Cup donât usually want awful hockey players. I swear sometimes fans thinks GMs are just idiots who look at a name and say, âhe is well known, letâs add him regardlessâ without actually looking at how they are playing.
