Why don’t you lay out your off-season plan so we can all learn what a brilliant off season should look like.

You take the best player regardless of position. They should take Power, he is the number one prospect. Kid is Canada’s number 1 dman at the WCs. He went from no ice time to top minutes in a couple games under a proven coach in Gallant. The lineup isn’t strong but still an accomplishment for sure for a kid who hasn’t been drafted yet. Tune in tomorrow, they play Russia. If they are blowing this up then it is easier to get top end scoring prospects back rather then top shelf stud dmen prospects. And NO, Power isn’t Myers because both are tall. Power has great hockey sense on the back end which Myers never had a lick of.

We know exactly how this will go. Buffalo will pick 2nd. A group of fans will get super excited stating that Power is going 1st and the Sabres will get Beniers 2nd. This will go on until the draft. Power will go 1st and then the Sabres will take someone else 2nd and it will be the end of the world and the universe.

Let’s call a spade a spade. This Collective FO with the Pegulas, Adams and Krueger was all about Ralph and the Pegulas getting their say and Adams following out the plan. Everyone brought in and let go was handpicked by Ralph. Lets see what Adams and Karmanos do this off-season. There needs to be a huge move to more analytics based decision making. Let’s have some fun. Sabres win the 1st OA selection. You are going up to make the pick. Who are you legitimately picking? I am choosing Power. His combination of size, skating, hockey IQ is too good to pass up. I think he is a sure thing. Will play a lot of top minutes for a very long time in the league. I let him go back to Michigan for one more season to mature (something he said he is already heavily considering anyways). I don’t worry about having Dahlin, Samuelsson, Bryson and Johnson already. Dahlin seem to be itching to slide over to the right side anyways. I see the Sabres having to blow it up and it is easier to get young high end scorers back in trades then it is elite young dmen.

Power is earning steadily more ice time for Canada and looking very good. On in the last 2 minutes protecting a 1 goal game. His hockey IQ seems to set him apart from a lot of big Dmen.

Let’s see the Leafs actually get by the Habs first.

I like McTavish but 2nd is silly. The rest of those guys are pretty much interchangeable. At #1 I think Sabres take Power. Number 2 will be fascinating if that is where they pick. So many different ways to go.
