He was supposed to be better. Generational.  If this is what generational looks like, I'd rather make the playoffs with a middling roster and draft 14th.

There was once a guy as good as just about anyone on your prior list named Chris Pronger. As a Whalers fan I'm very familiar with him. In his first few seasons he was HORRIBLE, like Matt Tennyson level bad. On those awful Whalers teams his awfulness stood out. He ended up a no brainer first ballot HOF'er, a cup winner and a key guy on 2 other teams that made the final (and carrying an Edmonton team to a game 7 they win if Rolo doesn't get hurt). So yeah, the idea that Dahlin is the next Tyler Myers is batshit crazy.

How about this: A team constructed under the ownership of Terry Pegula has never made the playoffs

Terry Pegula makes freaking Charles Wang look like Mike Illitch in comparison. And if anyone is going to try with the "Terry saved the team" narrative (which isn't true, but that's besides the point) than you must also believe John Spano was a great owner because he negotiated and signed the cable deal that is the reason the Isles still exist.

Without a doubt. That's why I'm going to fight like hell against the idea that the rotten core needs to be blown up when we haven't even put together a serious core of good hockey players yet

Know what would really help: hiring a good competent NHL quality coach (someone who is to coaching what Kevin Dineen was as a player). Hell, hire Kevin Dineen to be our new coach.

Sabres have lost 12 of their last 15. Wake up Pegula. Your joke of a franchise is utterly lost. IF you care at all. We don’t need a minor little trade. This team needs a major overhauling. And it’s far more mental than anything. Please get a proven winner to be in charge of hockey operations.

10 of 12. Utter disgrace. The Pegulas have to be considered the most incompetent owners in NHL history: 9 seasons of full control, ZERO playoff appearances, ZERO seasons that weren't over by February.

If you booed a team every time they were losing after a period, even the cup winners would be booed by their fans a few dozen times, which doesn't strike me as reasonable.

They should be booed when endless listlessness and effortlessness result in bad on-ice results which wasn't the case in this game and isn't the case in most of them IMO.

If it was any other team or situation I'd completely agree. We are playing a historic tire fire of a team tonight, if we can't beat them than who can we beat? And don't ask me how a team dwadling over firing someone as repulsive as Peters is getting all the luck.

Botterill doesn't know "right now" why there was no response. He has troubles making trades (good trades?) because he's a young GM. Two more marks against the guy. Weak, weak sauce.

How can anyone not see this guy is in way over his head and needs to go? Just completely incompetent and terrible at his job.

Meh. I’m upset with the loss, but I’m not ready to throw RK out after 7 weeks. I’ll leave that desire for the (IMO), knee jerk fans. Every fans different.

Watch what happened in that third period and then watch Ralph's press conference. Are you seriously going to tell me something isn't horribly wrong. Our franchise player may have just become the next Tim Connolly and Ralph's concern is avoiding getting a fine? Honest to God he needed to go full Schonny yelling "Have another donut" on that officiating crew ( who also deserve to be fined and suspended for their stunning incompetence). Show some fire and guts.
