  1. It's about time for a Vanek hat trick. Seems like the "Ning are one team he likes to play against.
  2. I'm ready. 3 points out of 8th..
  3. I'm with you. I know more about this than I want to or should have to. I recognize enough of the behaviors to agree with Swamp's assessment and Weave's gut.
  4. How about they sell and make the playoffs.. hey, it could happen.
  5. Yeah, there's that. But wouldn't it be better to just say, D2D nurising a nit? That's what they did with Vanek.
  6. I agree with this. One game I get, two game is punishment. And punishment doesn't trade well.
  7. I was wondering how it was going. You were in your own kobayashi maru. I know other families that have sent theirs and entertained others and by and large their experiences were positive. So I would chalk this up to one bad apple in a bushell. I hope writing this monologue was in someway cathartic.
  8. Just once, I would like to see the Sabres on the trade board early on deadline day. Waiting all day and then having to Google the "who is that player" at 8p is maddening. Granted the last "who are those guys" worked out well, but still, earlier please.
  9. No let down. Hammer time. Time to get a few players off the snide, Pominville, Stafford and Myers.
  10. No let down in Florida. The great Sabres playoff tease is on. With the win tonight, Sabres enter double digit chances to be in the playoffs.. ~10%..
  11. Amen. Preach it.
  12. Just lost another key cog on my fantasy team. He wasn't much for scoring but was making up for it with faceoffs won.
  13. I could never bring myself to vote for a tanking. It aint natural.
  14. Interesting spin. NJ has Brodeur back now. Although I just saw a headline that Kovy is injured. Carolina is the team that is in more trouble now. Their injuries are piling up. Ward is out for a while still and their second string goalie is out too.
  15. Every game is different. Montreal has tried three times with that style against Buffalo and what is their record? While I agree that over the long haul of the season, that is not a winning formula night in, night out, it is a game of matchups, goaltending and the quality, vice quantity of the shots that matters most. There have been plenty of nights when Buffalo owned the SOG total and lost the game. There were many point blank shots on Miller last night that he saw cleanly and without traffic. That adds to the SOG total but not the quality chances. Montreal clearly had some great chances last night and was definitely on the bad side of puck luck.
  16. Just a few thoughts: 1. The difference in last night's game, and hopefully a harbinger of things to come, was the zone clearing. Montreal came in with wave after wave of attacks, but Buffalo would get the puck out rather expeditiously. 2. The Vanek goal was one of the prettiest end-to-end plays I've seen. Every pass crisp, every move effective and finishing with dramatic flair. 3. Miller was brilliant last night. He was flopping all over the place to stop some grade A chances the Habs had. 4. Buffalo in White and Montreal in Red is as good as it gets. 5. The refs certainly gave Buffalo a huge gift last night. Remember that the next time a call seems to go against the Sabres. 6. Leino, Vanek, Miller and Hodgson were all-in in that game last night. 7. I wanted to post, but didn't, that I thought Miller was going to get a shutout. He deserved one. 8. Ott's penalty notwithstanding, I love what he brings to this team. Thank you sir, can I have a few more like him? 9. PPG.. Maybe, just maybe, they're starting to figure it out. 10. AHLers had a quiet night.
  17. Play in their end some more.. Like Leino's game tonight.
  18. Time for a shorty.. Their ripe for the picking
