I'm the same. Right handed but use a left handed stick in hockey. I play golf right handed. I always had real strong wrist and slap shots, but in high school when I played for Pittsford-Sutherland, our rivals (Pittsford-Mendon) goalie told me I had one of the nastiest backhand shots he had seen. Which is kinda strange since a backhand shot is generated by your lower hand on the stick, being my left, non-dominate hand. I was also a switch-hitter in baseball as well. I can say that I can't throw or write worth a with my left arm though.

The spitting thing seems to happen in many sports, except basketball for obvious reasons. I think it has more to do with adrenaline. Most baseball players that don't chew are still always spitting. Mariano was a good example. He would spit 2 or 3 times for every pitch he threw. Football players seem more into blowing snot rockets from what I've seen. And wtf ever happened to the diving penalty, did they get rid of it? I haven't seen one called in two years. It never made sense to me anyways. If a player gets called for diving, then was it really a penalty on the other player being called for one to begin with?

I'm not sold on Sam's misread a text excuse. If he thought the stretch was at 1 when it was actually at 11, that would make more sense. How do you misread 10:30 for 11? Those numbers aren't very hard to confuse.

Agreed. Not a big deal disciplining a player. If Sam chose to sit on the bench himself for the whole game, then this is no big deal. If DB made him, then it's a bit more of an issue with me. Either way it happened, it's over so move on. But either way, I still want DB fired.

I'm pretty sure Kane was late for a mtg last year or early this season and nothing like this was done to punish him. Of course I could be totally wrong and thinking of someone else.

Same here, joined this board March of 2006. Can't remember when my first Sabres game was, but I can tell you that my first Bills game was against the Browns when Sam Rutigliano was their HC. I haven't hit the half century mark yet, but I'm getting mighty close. Maybe we should have a geriatric Sabres meet up of us that are 40 and older.
