  1. I wonder if he would have fared better if drafted by our current staff? He had everything from a tool’s perspective.
  2. Yup, and Kenny Hodge went from 8 to 88, and Brad Park went from 2 to 22. That happened and Gretzky came in with 99.
  3. It used to be until the franchise fell into disarray. Winning first, then playing for a supportive and effective organization - that is the top criteria. After that, how a player fits into the area. A player that is a party animal might want a bigger playground.
  4. I recall the NHL started using larger numbers about the time of the WHA and the absorption of some WHA teams into the NHL.
  5. I took my Dad too. He was 88 at the time.
  6. I enjoy Bisons games on a nice summer day in Buffalo. I did get to see MLB in Buffalo when the Blue Jays played there. That was a treat.
  7. They had problems with Kane and Bogo, apparently dumping them on Buffalo was not nearly enough.
  8. People who spout on Twitter.
  9. The problem was our culture change. People complained about watching a sporting event with no winner. NFL Football put in the dumbest OT rules ever just to get a winner.
  10. This thread makes me long for the days when all players wore numbers 1-30.
  11. Outrage culture. 😁 I had to look that one up.
  12. Columbus is a very nice city. Ohio State University is there and there are some lovely suburban towns (like Dublin) in the metro area. Parts of downtown are safe and have a good vibe. Lots of good golf courses and upscale restaurants and shops in the area. It has the stigma of being Midwestern, which east and west coast people immediately consider boring. The crime in the city is much lower than most US cities of its size.
  13. You won’t be golfing in the summer. Maybe 6:00 am to 10:30 am
  14. Next you can start a thread about the morons that wear those ear piece and microphone things and talk loudly in public as if no one can hear them, or worse, as if we are interested in how important they are. I once told a earpiece/microphone guy who was loudly conducting business in the airport waiting area to "Hey Buddy, give us all a break" - the people seated in the immediate area started clapping and cheering. He stopped.
  15. Sorry Canada but high taxes, cold weather, crazy expectations and some very remote outposts 1) Winnipeg - weather, boring 2) Calgary - weather, cow town 3) Edmonton - weather, boring 4) Arizona - suck franchise 5) Toronto - hate them 6,7,8) NYR/NYI/NJD - no NYC at all 9) San Jose - bleach 10) Seattle - yuck
  16. Savoie is small (short) but he has a fireplug type body, strong lower body, and he will play in the low to mid 180's. Benson will be back in the OHL, his body will develop more in the next year.
  17. That is why they signed Toker. They will lose Comrie or UPL when if they cut either of them.
  18. @Weave you are the Dream Weaver.
  19. I like this one for you ...
  20. Nice selection, but a guy with a chicken on his head should have this one ...
  21. For some old guy named Punch and I queued it up for ya.
  22. If he can play a two-way game and contribute on the scoresheet a bit, plus help the PK (a weakness from last season), then he has a shot to supplant VO. Prefer we sign a vet like Tatar for this role but I think they want to see what their own can do before making such a move.
  23. Being a developmental coach is a stepping stone job. Mike Peca was a developmental coach for the caps before he was tapped to be assistant coach for AHL Rochester, now he is assistant coach in NHL. Redmond will be a specialist for defense and will spend time with our prospects in Europe. He has a long way to go but you never know.
  24. Maybe not. They are all capable of scoring more goals than they ever have. I think Mitts should be on 2nd line with Cozens and JJP though. Both will score more playing with Mitts than they would with VO or a rookie.
