A home opener loss. I thought they were still in preseason mode for the most part. A few players stood out to me. I liked what I saw from Peterka, Benson, Clifton, Greenway, Johnson and Levi. Hoping Peterka takes a step this year. Benson got involved and made things happen. Clifton was hitting and he did good joining the rush. Greenway was working hard and being a presence, and I have not had many positive Greenway comments until tonight. The 4th line was -2.

Peca is on the Ranger bench. We will coach our team someday.

Well that says a lot. The Rangers are veterans, and the Sabres still very young. You see it, but it could look different as the season progresses.

Benson gets involved. He is going to be special.

Tuch didn’t play much at all in preseason. I’m wondering if he didn’t tweak something?

The Sabres are getting outplayed so far but if these are their fans reactions after 20 minutes then it’s going to be a really long season. I get the expectations are sky high. Expect this team to have to fight to the last day to get the 8th spot in the conference. What I’m waiting for is the first line to get moving . Would like to hear Tuchs name as much as Benson or Cozens.

It’s the first period of the first game of an 82 game season. We are playing 2 rookies. 1. The Rangers actually do have a better team. 2. The Rangers have lots of veterans and one of the best goalies in the league 3. Give the Sabres a chance. 4. The whining about Power and Benson is ridiculous. 5. I don’t see the Sabres backing down or playing that bad Will you guys stop over analyzing this.

He apparently knew Roth from Fidelity for 12 years and he worked with him in other capacities. He gave him a high level exec position with the Sabres that really could have been considered a stretch assignment for him. Then, only 6 months later he also gave him him Ron Raccuia's job with the Bills. Raccuia has been in Sports Management his entire 30+ year career . He met the Terry in 2011. He started AdPro Sports which Pegula bought from him in 2014. Pegula hired him into the Bills and promoted him. He was Kim's confidante. He was a guy that was proven in the sports management. He got the stadium deal done. Then was let go in favor of Roth, a still unproven Sports exec with 6 months of experience. Even without the affair, does this sound like great logic? We don't know the personalities but work experience and results of these two men are miles apart. Terry is not responsible for Roth's failings, he was right to dismiss him, but he is responsible for his own decisions on who he hires.
