  1. They did, back in 04 to 07, then proceeded to dismantle it and haven't looked back since.
  2. It's actually comical. Are we witnessing the start of another 10+ game loosing streak?
  3. Good luck with that. Outside of Tuch, not 1 of these players has any snarl in them. As others have said, to many of the same type of players, and nearly all of them soft or just lack the lbs. to go toe to toe with opposing players without getting their face caved in....see Cozens.
  4. I can't even bitch anymore. Granato can't get them past where he's gone it appears and Adams has flat out refused to bring in some protection type players to patrol and protect the younger guys. Let's not even beat the terrible D and goaltending deadhorse. Every team plays a heavy game against us, they know it's successful, it works. Being patient isn't going to solve that problem, as a matter of fact, it's fostering a terrible environment for these young players, that's just the truth based on what were witnessing game after game on the ice imho.
  5. Stop giving the puck away in the defensive zone please.
  6. Even the goalies across the league are outscoring a 3rd of our roster...... :😜
  7. Don't exhaust yourself, we still have the December onslaught to go. Save your strength for the all star break when I really begin to rip in to Adams for not addressing the lost points if we still sit at .500 hockey.
  8. And here I was digging in my attic for my Flux capacitor, dam you thorny..... 🤣
  9. Of course it's a fan expectation. Your getting flustered if this is the response that you chose to run with. You know how I can tell? You stated "Adams has no pressure to "do something" because you say it's playoffs or bust". My responses have been consistent through out. It was Adams himself who stated the playoffs were the goal. I merely pointed out a large portion of the fan base is expecting that after a dozen+ years of their absence. Of course expectations are higher than those dozen plus years, the bar should be higher than what we've witnessed, even under Adams tenure. Being a fan does not mean we have to resign ourselves to a "monkey paw, walked under a ladder, a black cat walked in front of us, we broke a mirror" mindset. Your better than this promo. I don't expect we'll see eye to eye on this, but I still respect your input, and I understand it. I would never say it's wrong, as I often say, I agree, or I see things differently. But I won't make glossy excuses when I'm incorrect, humorous ones yes, but I won't gloss it over.
  10. I would agree. What would you say I wonder if I proposed the Sabres team in one of the parallel universes that made the playoffs these past 13 years, won a cup, isn't coming here?
  11. Oh, I don't believe we have to go in depth to see the results are the same. I have to ask, do you feel that way? That the results are different? Maybe we're speaking past one another if that is the case. The playoffs are the goal, get in, anything may, or may not happen. But getting in is the goal. Are you suggesting that is not the goal? Even after Adams publicly stated it is?
  12. Yes, because your belief on what exactly a fan should be, how they should act, is beyond reproach. If a "so called" fan doesn't respond the way you expect they should, then they are "upset over following a team that should be a fun thing to do". Your implying if it's not fun, shut up. Well, I've been a fan for over 50 years as well. What if I told you there is this magical thing called individualism, where every human being reacts differently, even if slightly, even if 180 from your reaction, that not only is not a negative, but actually adds as a positive to the sports subject matter, even if your unable to see it? What would you say I wonder if you knew that was the reality of the world.
  13. Completely irrelevant. These responses completely ignore the primary subject matter of the conversation. Adams stated the playoffs are the goal this season, yet his inability to adjust to make that happen when his initial strategy of running with young, inexperienced roster fails is the primary subject. Signing for the future has become a crutch, your using it now. After 12+ seasons of no playoffs, the excuses no longer are acceptable.
  14. Again, I don't disagree. But for a fan base starved of any real progress for over a decade now, many aren't in the mood to deal with expressions of faith. They (including myself for full disclosure) want results. And those voices, they are growing in number, by vast amounts, daily now. Understand, I'm not saying Adams should "cave" to fan sentiment. What I am saying is that a good portion of this fan base expressed concern with the complete paradox of Adams statements and actions. And many were actually saying this outcome long before the off season ended. Maybe, just maybe, they weren't incorrect. So, what is Adams going to do about the problems? That is now the question, before the season truly is a failure yet again.
  15. But only here in Buffalo, where franchise incompetence is......wait for it.......double the fun?
  16. Not that I agree he's ruined, but......since you asked.... For starters, I wouldn't have run with such an unproven asset as Levi to start a season you openly stated the playoffs are the goal this year. I mean, really, what did you expect those fans, well educated in positional history, to say when you pull a horse-***** move like that? Do you honestly believe we all should just have excepted the situation knowing full well that spending some of this organizations over abundance of assets may, and I stress may, have landed a veteran #1 worthy netminder that would be more inclined due to their experience to cover at least some of the defenses short comings? At the end of the day you have to give to get in the NHL. Adams, at least as of at this moment, is not meeting expectations. And that is all that accounts at the end of the day.
  17. He said Adams balls haven't dropped yet as a GM, but he caught a glimpse of Adams wearing Daisy Duke shorts and ball was looking to find a way out of the tight squeeze the season was making it feel.
  18. To be fair, with each "thrust" in to the offensive zone, Gilbert's "net front presence may, and I stress may, have crossed my mind. Along with RJ's voice throughout the entire.....ummm....match, ya match 😀 Edit: and you think I kid, but, I was keeping my own score sheet folders at 10 yrs old of every Sabres player. 4 years later, in 84, ya, I still kept them. I added 1. And I ended up marrying her 2 years ago 😉 That's a very real life story by the way. The song "OH What A Night" is definitely on my mind 🤣
  19. I'm still learning as I go, even at 53. But, I have pointed out the over abundance of still developing youthful players, it does play some, maybe not overwhelming, but some in to the strategy opposing teams implement against us. Yes I know spoonman, patience, and I will use it. After all, I'm a born and bred blue and gold, I have no other choice 😉
  20. My sincerest hope is for your wife, you, and all those affected find serenity in life. Very sad to hear this, yet hopeful you all as a family are well, as I believe you work towards it every day.
  21. Hey now, I've been screaming..... For a long while now.
  22. I disagree, respectfully. They are late season bloomers is all...... 😉
  23. 1984, TNT game, George J. Vetter Stadium. Lost my......errr, ummm, innocents? On the bleachers after the game and the crowd had gone home. A cherished sporting memory, as I scored well in to the early AM. One of, if not my finest stamina performances as the legs tired, but never gave out. 😀
  24. I blame management and coaching staff. Management for not addressing the issues on the roster, i.e. goaltending, defense. Coaching because the power play looks like a limp sausage that a blue pill couldn't help, defenseman that for some unknown reason continue to cough up the puck in their own zone, in some cases actually passing it back in to our own zone right to opponents, and lastly, I think the coaching staff keeps our rosters balls in a jar for the first period. That is all.
