Not a bad idea actually. Tell Skins to go enjoy McDavid and a playoff run, then talk with Botterill on 7/1. Send them Skinner, Scandella (they need a solid mid pair LHD with more than the "rental tag) and Okposo (they need a winger better than Lucic) and Bailey or Buffalo 2nd rd pick 2021. Get back Puljujarvi, 1st unprotected and Lucic with 33% retained. Re-sign Skinner in the off season, I'd rather have 4 mil instead of 6 mil for 4 more seasons (Okposo to Lucic variant) and that unprotected 1st. Chiarelli may just be that dumb to except this...…….seriously.

I like the Buyers market info. But the deadline is well over a month away, even with the all star break, given this teams inability to halt the slide, the deadline may be a bridge to the playoffs to far. I an cautious to though. We are deeper at LHD and RW, Scandella and a small add like Bailey should be able to get a forward that may help a bit. Not a top 6'er, but our 3rd line isn't exactly stellar either. Just kick'en some thoughts around.

Depends on management/ownership. They know better than any of us where the team is at and what the strategy is to get us to where we need to be. Given Pegula's record as owner, I'm not particularly confident in the outcome to date.

Not if Toronto, Tampa Bay, NYI or Montreal have anything to say about it. All of those teams are on the rise, and for good reason, they have speed and finishers and that is the way this league is headed.

To be fair, Botterill's hands are a bit tied given the contracts on this team from the previous GM's administration. Okposo is the primary one, but there are others but they appear movable.

depends on where we draft. if we don't make the playoffs, and St. Louis ends up at say the 11/12 slot, with San Jose sure to make it, we could be looking at anywhere from the 1st over all (our own pick, if we win the lottery) to the 15th over all, then St. Louis pick in that early teener pick and San Jose in the 20's. Not an entirely bad scenario, but those players won't be stepping until 2021/22 at the earliest, Jacks current contract will be roughly half over, and even then, that is IF those picks pan out. No, I'm in agreement with those who post on getting it done now. There are deals that can be made, the question is, can Botterill make them? Is he capable of recognizing what is going on? My money is still on him, we shall see.

After all this club has put me through in roughly 50 years, I tried not to chuckle, I really did...……. But I understand. The season is still on going, and we are still in the mix. But to be realistic, at least, to some extent, the old adage of "what is the definition of insanity, doing the same the thing over and over again and expecting different results" has a real ring of truth to it. If we are going to make the playoffs, either the players need to determine within themselves that it's going to happen, or Botterill needs to address the roster in such a way that players he may add determine it's going to happen. I don't know, hard to say no to at least the playoffs, but I also don't want to sell any of the 1st's. I can wait another season if we don't make it. But fans in general are getting a bit pissed, can't blame'em really.

So, where do we go from here lol. I reckon those 1st round picks of Buffalo are starting to gain some real value. Not that it matters much, I know, but they played the top team in the league for 50 minutes or so. We all know the familiar cliché, We still have work to do? Not for nothing, but I thought Larsson and Girgensons had solid games. Hoping to build on that.
