Jack Eichel: Trade rumors and speculation
triumph_communes replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
The one that took Kane beforehand -
The defense won’t be that bad. Just young.

It’s not wrong in their approach. It’s just who is doing it and how KAs main point in his presser is stick to the plan. Don’t get emotional. Don’t speed things up. Stick to it. That 100% is someone telling the owner to stay out and don’t undermine the process. That owner saw what the Bills have done and is now listening. Jack isn’t the leader. He hasn’t faced adversity except by blaming others when it’s happened. Hey may never do so. Start over

Some quick thoughts regarding trades and free agency so far

Pysyk and Burcher have always been analytic darlings, though they’re both coming off of poor years. -
KA continuing to sign players his current coach has experience with. better than the GM recalling players for the coach to just bench them, lol

Face it, the plan for next year is another tank

Assume 1C is Eichel or from Eichel trade Need a 2nd/3rd pair LD to step up or be signed. There’s plenty Plenty of middle-6 players out there still too Goalie is the gap. I wouldn’t freak out yet. -

I don’t think they’ll be as bad as some think, assuming a few more gaps filled in -

Any team wants Eichel before noon so they can fix the rest before there’s only scraps -
Jack Eichel: Trade rumors and speculation

It’s been the ask. And there’s been leaks of GMs complaining about it. Then rumors of a whole compadre but not touching the top prospects. You’re getting Eichel pony up. That’s what this offer does - it’s not overpay, but it says a team in the West give it up to dominate for the next 5 years. -

Leaking a reasonable Krebs offer may help force Minn/Ana to pony up their top prospects -

Hague Krebs a dump vet and a late first. Could be worse. Has better upside than a lot of other ideas and the ages doesn’t push out the rebuild 5 years Vegas gives up nothing immediately threatening cup runs for a few years. They can worry about the farm after cups -
Got a bunch of players with killer instinct and not the passive players who may be smart and skilled, but are boring to watch and don’t get Ws. Now they just need to grow

Why don’t you make a thread that is your resume builder instead of ruining every other thread with the age old ‘I knew better’ argument? People want to hear highlights about this kid, no what not only the Sabres but usually 5-6 entire other scouting departments also skipped over. I agree with you Johnson is a classic case of not picking BPA and getting burned. It’s also a high floor low ceiling approach which is exhausting, but made sense at the time where we went a decade batting 0.000 at 2nd-4th rounders. But keep that to a thread that is your resume builder instead.

Great post. Highlights how 90% of us are going to be disappointed with the return under these assumptions. Not that they aren’t realistic assumptions, but makes it clear.
