    I know, it was an overstatement. But effort is something Kane brings - maybe even a little too much - to which you astutely pointed out, after the rib incident, he seemed to play a little more carefully. If you have to point to a winger's effort in the d-zone to illustrate their overall "lack of effort," you're grasping at straws

    The scoring-goals trick is a pretty good trick. I'll take it. Effort is always 100%. Start watching hockey games. "all that other off ice stuff" - clear evidence of bias. What happened in the last year, off ice? Nothing. Get over it, he's fine. No reports of anyone in the locker room having problems with him; only some fans.

    I really like the idea of Sam centering Evander, even though I think the analytics say Eichel centering Evander was the most productive for both. I'd be curious to see the former, though.

    Not as a starter, and with a new style offense and new coach. I agree he's not going to morph into a different QB, but maybe a coaching focus on a different offense can bring something else out of him? Shooting in the dark for optimism somewhere...

    With good slot receivers and good coaching, is it possible Tyrod can be coached to and still learn to be a better over-the-middle passer?

    Wasn't referring to who he'd be playing with, but being on the 3rd line. I agree with the concept, but the 3rd line doesn't get nearly as much TOI, and that's why I think he wouldn't like it. But then again, if he's on the power play and kills penalties, maybe it'd even out.

    Wildcard- you've gone back and forth with me quite a bit, yet I'm not sure if you realize I never thought Jack would get an offer sheet. I was just explaining why Jack had leverage- because the possibility of an offer sheet exists. Now you admit Jack has leverage, but let's not forget, this happened:
