The whole Sabre team's play was hesitant yesterday. I never seen so many intercepted passes and plain old steals. I'm hoping this doesn't become a trend.

Agree with it all. But until it's another lost campaign I'm hoping they use some of the cap space to buy a player or two to make the playoffs. LOL.

It would be something. Then imagine one or both of them playing poorly. It would bring the debates all back "on steroids". I would need another roll of Reynolds Wrap to cover the rest of my body and not just my head!

It sure seems to be the plan. Personally the way the GM/HC are currently handling this messed up organization is the only thing giving me any hope for the future of this team. The past combinations for last 10 years seemed (at least to me) to be a complete hodgepodge of planning.

Agree. I also think that there's the chance that later in the year a guy like Eakin could get replaced for a young guy.

It's $6M in cap but it sounds like he only costs just over $1M in actual cash. Like I said in the trade thread there is still plenty of cap if they have a chance to sign a player they really want during the year.

I know a lot about NFL contracts and cap situations BUT I admit I do not know the NHL. I just have to go along with the move as something that the Sabres need to do to not concern themselves with future moves. I can see that happening when/if they want to bring some more kids up during the year.

I'm interested in tonight's game. Trade is completed and no new guys are immediately on the roster. The current team now knows what the future will be like in a few months when Tuch starts playing. Krebs in Rochester. All the drama is over and nothing is left except for the players needing to play well enough for a playoff chance. A solid win splits the road trip and would help them keep a focus. I'm so glad the Eichel stuff is over with and a win would put an exclamation point on the day! One Buffalo!
