I'm sure we'll be bringing Bryson back with this crew, they love his terrible play in his own zone.

Benson on the PK was practically flawless
He's everything i want this team to be, get all Bensons on the team, he blocks, sticks up for teammates, goes straight to the front of the net, shoots and will probably be our leading scorer very soon.

Our elite defensemen there.

His full salary counts as dead cap, but Pegula is saving 18.5 million in actual cash as the Texans are now paying his salary.
He needed that extra cash to refuel the jet for the NFL Draft coming up in a few weeks.

HEART!! and COACHING!
This is pretty much where I’m at. It’s amateur hour here in Sabresland, do what is necessary to land a legit head coach who hires legit assistants.
I think it will make a world of difference, someone who actually preaches “get in front of the net or go to another hockey team”, “play hard and get rewarded with playing time” or some other cliche type of saying like that.

Well, we kind of already did this year. Mitts time on ice was 18:16 and Cozens was 17:11. Not counting Tage, if a C is playing better than Cozens next year, he’ll get more playing time.
Which is probably a good reason we traded him since Adams said himself he doesn’t want to block anyone. I still have faith in Cozens.

Funny thing is we’ll have to pay that 2C what we could’ve paid Mitts.
There is no way we’re paying Cozens 7M to not be the 2nd line center next season imo.

Is the Leadership!
No emotion on the bench or rarely behind it.
I've said it before in other posts.
At this level, you need to hit the ice like Conner McDavid!
Going 100% from the moment your blades hit the ice until you hit the bench.
Can you name or identify anyone who is taking on the identity of a leader?
This is a crucial aspect of team sports, ESPECIALLY Ice Hockey!
Why do you thing we suck so bad in 1st period play?
I don't see that person in the lineup right now. Tuch & Dahlin are close, but I'd love a proven NHL player who has won a cup and has grit.
What say ye?
We keep saying no leadership which to me is scary... Thompson will be 27, Tuch will be 28, Skinner will be 32, Clifton will be 29, UPL will be 26, Dahlin is still young but will have been starting since 2018 and will turn 25 at this time next season, if not 1 of these guys are natural born leaders then why are they even here? To me none of them have shown leadership, the excuses they put out in the media instead of owning it just shows me none of them are ready for that "C" on their chest but someone most likely Dahlin will be getting it. It's time for the excuses to stop and the play to speak for itself imo.

UPL
I like him but I have to see it for more than 1/4 of a season in a contract year.

The fact that I wouldn't mind seeing any of these guys traded says alot imo. In years past I had at least 1 player I wanted to keep at very least but I don't feel that way about any of this core group of players, maybe Benson is about all I'd want to keep.

At the very least, the coach HAS to go. If he is behind the bench starting next season, fans in the Arena should have signs saying “Fire Pegula” game 1.
If Adams doesn’t fire Granato, then he should go as well. And we have to get a better coach and overall player development system.
I have lived in Birmingham, AL the past 18 years and watched the Alabama football program up close. They take 18 year-old kids and by the time they are 21 those kids have added 15 to 20 pounds of muscle, are faster and stronger. Almost 100%! RBs who come in at 195, are 210-215 by the time they are Jrs. WRs, with a couple of unique exceptions, will add 10-15 lbs. I’ve seen 210 lb LBs leave 3 yrs later at 235-240 and are fast beasts
There is ZERO excuse for this coach and GM to not have these professional players adding 15 to 20 pounds of muscle from the time they drafted until they are 20 to 22 years old. Yet we see incremental changes there at best. Owen power should’ve come into camp at 225 and a beast. if he’s not between 225 and 230 and faster and more physical at the start of camp (similar for other players), that is on the GM and the coach and the whole player development system.
Same with Benson he is listed at 170. He should come into camp at 180 min.
And by coach I mean no more Sabres castoffs, no more Sabres waiting in the wings, no more Sabres developmental coaches, no Lindy Ruff who has 3 failed teams after leaving Buffalo, I agree with all of what you're saying here.

When the Sabres win the Stanley Cup, the parade order should be 1. Players 2. Diehard fans who always believed, always cheered and never hated and 3. Anyone watching this game.

I am a Scheffler fan.
This is going to sound lame but I’m not a huge golf fan at all, I find it hard to watch to be honest. Back in the 90s I was huge into sportscards and there was a set of cards called proset, my sport is football and hockey so I’d buy both those sports religiously.
in the set I found out you can get special cards like a rare Santa Claus or golfer Payne Stewart and they sold for decent money back then so the chase was on and it make me dive into golf a bit and of course Payne Stewart and those wacky pants he used to wear. I still don’t watch golf that much now but seeing I think it was Jack Nicolas out there was pretty cool to see he can still do it.

No respectable Owner would keep this GM or HC, at the very least the HC but I just don't see them getting the axe.

Power looked like he belonged in his short time when he first arrived, not once did I think of him as a liability out there.
Fast forward to this season and it was clear as day he struggled with physicality, turnovers especially in our own zone plus he never really seemed comfortable or confident back there.
I really hope he works on his overall game because he has the size and skating ability to be elite but so do so many out there that haven’t made it. He’s still young and has time so I haven’t given up hope yet!

This "youngest team in the league" bit is getting really old. Who's fault is that? They had a chances to upgrade Okposo/Girgensons/Olofsson with better veteran leadership and they chose to re-sign those guys. They had a chance to upgrade the defense group with better veterans and they signed Eric Johnson and Connor Clifton, Clifton is a bit better but Eric Johnson was horrendous. They had chances to sign a veteran goaltender and went with Comrie again plus nothing was done in the offseason when Jack Quinn was injured which forced Benson into the lineup at 18 years old. Mismanagement all over this roster is why we are without playoffs for a 13th straight season and Adam/Granato add 3-4 years of the continued sucking. If we would have surrounded this young core with solid veterans instead of going the 750K route this team wouldn't have missed the playoffs by a point or missed this year imo.
I stongly feel that if we retain both Adams/Granato for even a half season then this team will have to be completely rebuilt once again because the way we attain players, non leaders, players with skill but no will is starting to trickle down to everyone in the locker room and you can hear it in every interview now from Dahlin stating "We thought this was going to be easy" to Tuch stating "We're the youngest team in hockey" and Thompson yesterday stating "There was too much expectation", these to me are all words of non leaders again imo, I don't see a true leader on this team as of right now.

Yes I just meant I miss those days, I want a whole roster of Lindros and Steven’s types, come on people it’s really not that difficult to figure out.
