That’s a fair question but why would Benson be bumped down? Make him force someone out of the lineup instead of giving him a top 6 role. He’s 19, a few more years before a deal needs to be made so no need to force feed this. Quinn also would not be bumped if a top 6 came along. New player- Thompson-Peterka Quinn-Cozens-Tuch Benson-McLeod-Zucker If anything it makes the 3rd line even better for Benson giving him a veteran like Zucker and McLeod would be ideal imo.

My guess would be Zucker, Helenius is most likely going to Rochester and benson needs to earn that right imo.

Bringing the entire band back together in 2023 while only adding Clifton, Johnson was a total failure. He did add Byram but it was too late.

I believe all of those guys offered better defensive responsibility.

Krebs is now where he should be, a healthy scratch who now has to show he's worthy of even a 4th line C position instead of being handed a job without earning it. I'm not sure if he's eligible for the AHL or not.

Why wouldn't they be in the cards, just curious? Farabee is a 3rd liner, we already have Zucker so I doubt Farabee , Vatrano has decent stats but a -20 player and isn't he a Skinner type with no defense, wasn't that the knock on him?

I'm 1 of those that disagree, although he doesn't fit the speed criteria I think his hitting game will pick up and should put up better numbers with better players around him imo. 28 points , +11 and has the physical presence when he wants to. I think the rest of these guys will bring the dog out of Greenway.

Well Woll only had 1 decent year and nothing to the likes of UPL as far as wins or games played. I doubt he makes less than Woll, not a chane imo but I hope you're right.

Man if we can upgrade Jokiharju that would be ideal.

I'm not quite sure how arbitration works but Joseph Woll got 3.66M then UPl should at least be 4.6M, he nearly doubled Woll in games played plus had better save % and goals against. Beck Malenstyn made 762K AAV so what will he go up to 1M at most? Not terrible imo.

Speed, size, +/- +14 the past 2 seasons, offensive output on the upswing. I really liked Savoie but never really knew where he fit after Benson made the team. We have our 3rd line center so I'm pretty stoked although his contract is up after this season.

Ehlers could definitely fall on his face but he's been really consistent point wise although he hasn't been a model of health until last season. I wasn't presenting it as a negative but there are alot of what if's with this roster as it stands and the main focal point seems to be that Ruff will turn this all around and I hope that he does but it did take him until his 3rd season to get the Devils in the playoffs. I'm sure it won't all be necative but will the positive outweigh the negative? We shall see.

I'm glad you mentioned the "add muscle" part because sometimes I think hockey is different and they don't teach thesekids how to workout or have a nutrion program but it was great to hear our #1 pick in his post tourney interview talk about how the Sabres have him in a nutrition program or are at least monitoring it which was great to hear. I'd like to see Benson get a little thicker and harder to knock down since at times last year he would get dumped to the ground quite easily.

I would get a veteran defensive RHD to replace Jokijarju who may never has as much value as he does now after a decent season. Trade for a veteran top 6 and get a legit 3rd line center like Ross Colton who may want to play with his buddy Bowen. These 3 upgrades would get me to a point where I feel comfortable that we've upgraded instead of staying status quo and again just my 2 pennies.

Sorry I meant the career years 2 seasons ago not last year my bad. I know it's hard to configure that's why it's flawed and too many what ifs for me which is why I think we need more.

I'm not sure it's something you're missing but you're adding in a year in which every single player had career years then came down to earth. Are we getting the players from 2 seasons ago or last year? Adding Ruff should in theory help this but what if it doesn't, Benson should take the next step but what if he doesn't? Can Quinn stay healthy for an entire season? Will Peterka improve upon last year? Nothing changed along the defense, will they get better defensively? Again there are so many what ifs here which is why I want a guy like Ehlers in a trade since he is the model of consistency imo and at least you know what you'll be getting in him. Adams did this last year as well, instead of improving upon the lineup he kept staus quo. He went out and changed the bottom 6 which is awesome an love the look of that 4th line now and even the 3rd should be pretty solid but has done nothing once again to replace Skinner. Just hoping that either Peterka takes the next step or Benson does is terrible mismanagement again (but I know the offseason isn't over but thats my take unless he fixes the problem). Also of course the 3rd line center postion is being given to Krebs who imo has not earned it whatsoever.
