A lot of the hate we have for the Leafs stems from stuff like this that aren’t even on the ice.

Have you ever gone to a Sabres/Toronto game here at home? They act like complete douchbags and it's even worse now that we're trash and can't even do anything about it. It stems from their fans coming into our building and acting like tools. If you've never gone to a game against the leafs at home, you'll come back with a different attitude.

Eh, I’m certainly not sad but it doesn’t have much baring since he’s already won a Cup.

Perhaps we’ll get lucky and Tavares will get bought out and sign a cheap deal here to be our 3C for a year or two and want vengeance on his hometown team. 🙂

Yeah but at least now it's not multiple cups. That's wishful thinking considering Tavares would have been the leading scorer on our team but I agree perhaps we'll get lucky for once.

  3. I just heard on WGR 550 a few minutes ago than i believe it was Darren Dreger is reporting coaches were never talked to at by Adams, berube said he never spoke to Adams at all. I caught the tail end of it but it's being reported that there was no search at all and it was Lindy Ruff from the get go. Like I said I caught the tail end did anyone else hear this?

  4. Absolutely can't trade with the Chiefs for any reasoning, We have now given them Mahomes and if Worthy (Not saying he will) turns into another Tyreek Hill we're even more screwed plus trading out of the 1st round we now lose the 5th year option. Beane is really shitting the bed in this draft imo.

Unless his plan is to bring in a veteran WR via trade then this really makes no sense.

  5. Everytime he was on the ice it seemed like he was doing all the right things. I agree with others that he needs to work on his shot and skating but I think those will all improve with experience. My main nitpick with him is that he needs to get bigger and I don't mean grow a few inches but good for him if he does lol He needs to add on some muscle because he went down very easily at times but again I think he'll continue with a nutritionist and get to where he needs to be.

What I really liked about his game was he never hesitated going in front of the net and although he knows he isn't the biggest or toughest guy out there he's a scrapper and stood up for himself when needed to. There is so much in his game that he can change so I'm looking forward to see what a real NHL HC and assistants can do for his game.

"No one has ever said this!"

Very next post talks about Chara and Hedman, 2 players being used because of their size and... physicality.

Lots of ppl think Power will be more physical because of his size. It's never really been his profile but hey @PerreaultForever you keep on keeping on.

I don't know if he'll ever be those players or not but like I said it can be taught and those 2 players are a good example imo.

I really tried to temper expectations on what Power was but almost universally around here it was "big guy hit stuff" and as I will repeat until this site goes dark, size does not equal grit.

He has the size though and you can teach it.... Victor hedman and Chara are examples who weren't the players they are now until about 4 years into their careers, Chara I think even a bit later. I think another player who will benefit from Ruff if he's not dealt in a trade is Mattias Samuelsson, he throws the body around just not nearly enough for me to get excited, he also shows grit along the boards, but to me he just needs more development.

  8. I don't know what to make of it since it's clearly a PR move but Ruff is a top notch HC, he hasn't won the big 1 yet but I'd l;ove for him to get the Cup with this squad, man that would be like a fairytale ending for all involved. I truly think he can push this group into the playoffs but i really need to see the lineup before deciding, we can't go into this just rebuilding the 4th line, there needs to be serious changes imo.

  9. Jay Leach- (Kraken) - He helped Charlie Mcavoy/Connor Clifton and Jeremy lauzon become the players they are today although Clifton's a work in progress still.

Mark Recch (Columbus)- I have no clue what type of assitant he was, I'm assuming forwards? It just says senior advisor when he was in Dallas with Ruff and just says assistant coach in Columbus on the staff page but it's never bad to have hall of famers teaching you the ropes.

It's hard to think who would run the power play, all the top teams in the playoffs aside from Boston had the best power plays so I doubt we can poach any of those guys.
