Why does any player have to 'prepare' for the draft? Really, what is there to do? Maybe get fitted for a new suit? Dark could help him out.

Because losing the McDavid lottery still got us a franchise centre.
I think the gap between Dahlin and Ekblad will be bigger than that of McDavid and Eichel. Certainly an arguable position, but I’d certainly argue not insane.

How many man games have we missed on average in the past few seasons. When you look at how good teams develop prospects, usually it's fairly sheltered. With what we have now don't have much choice other then give them minutes they're probably not ready for.

How many of those guys are top 4 on a playoff team. Getting the quantity (depth) is a great thing. But 2 subpar defenders doesn't make 1 top 4. We were atrocious defensively last year,things are on the upswing, but I think JBot would gladly add another quality defender

We desperately need players who can put the puck in the net right? I mean regardless of what happens with the defence and goalies, we still have a glaring issue. The team doesn't score goals very much

There was a lot made out of their final home game when he went and grabbed the puck out of the net after the game and tucked it into his pants, like he knew he was not coming back. Just saying, I love to have him in a Sabres uniform mentoring Dahlin.

Forsure, alot was made of it. What I seen was a guy that thought he was going to get traded and he seemed to be crushed by that fact.

What mcdavid is to centers and what matthews is to centers are completely different things, that being said I'd be pumped with either one. But only Crosby holds a candle to Mcdavid

Pilut should be nowhere near any top 6 projections until we've seen him in preseason.
I agree, usually I try to stay optimistic but penciling him into our top 4 is a little over the top. Not saying he Can't/won't be. Just saying we haven't seem him on NA ice so probably best to temper expectations

I’d give Dahlin some time to adjust before throwing him out against the leagues top players. I don’t think we can expect that from him until year 2 or 3. He still needs to physically mature.
Defense still needs upgrades. I mentioned in another thread this morning, what would it take to get Karlsson? He’s done with Ottawa. Can you imagine him and Dahlin paired as your top defensive pairing? It would be a coup! A fellow Norris Trophy winning Swede as a mentor. I like the sound of that.
There is certainly reason for optimism this morning.
I have not heard a single thing from Karlsson that would lead me to believe he's done with Ottawa. To me he really wants to stay a senator.

I thought the aim was to get Bogosian out of the top 4. Even when Bogosian is on his game (whenever the last time that was) he doesn't deserve a spot over Ristolainen.
Doesn't matter where you slot him he will be hurt and not in the lineup 90% of the time anyway. This is also the one of the reasons a buyout would be a mistake imo

At this point, I'm pretty convinced that we need to bring in Burke, Torts, and a host of guys that are the obvious guys to not bring in. Because choosing the "right" guys hasn't gotten us anywhere.
Gimme Brian Burke, John Torte(o?)rella, John Carlson on a big contract, JVR, and Bozak.
I think your onto something here. We must wait until Snow gets fired and hire him immediately.

There is literally only one goalie under contract for next season. The two FA's are bad. Another one is going to have to come from somewhere.
If be very surprised and disappointed if buffalo let Lehner walk without tendering a qualifying offer. Would show terrible asset management. We will retain he rights and most likely sign him. So I really stick to what I said
