  1. His D play and XGF and possession numbers have been slipping for the last 3 years. It’s the reason he was traded. His XGF for a Cup contender for the last 2 years were 47.27 and 47.94. His Corsi the last 2 years with Col were 49.7 and 49.7. Col was also cutting his PT the last 3 years from 21:53 down to 19:51. The Sabres had him with 58% o zone starts to limit his defensive short comings.
  2. Here is the issues with your analysis. By moving on from Casey and probably Skinner, Adams has eliminated most of the talented depth at forward. Assuming Skinner is gone, your scoring forwards are 2 centers (TNT & Cozens), and 4 wingers (Tuch, Quinn, JJP and Benson). The depth then is Krebs and Greenway who had a total of 14 goals between them last season. To say Adams has some work to do rebuilding our forward depth is an understatement. To make matters worse Byram is a terrible defensive defender and his game is redundant to what Power and Dahlin do better. What role does he play here? 3rd PP QB? Had he traded Mitts for D with a skill set we needed like in zone defender who could kill penalties, play physical and compliment what Dahlin and Power do, then you might have something. However adding a n unproven redundant LHD doesn’t move the needle when you eliminate our center depth in the process.
  3. You forgot Krebs, Jokiharju and Bryson.
  4. He isn’t an ex-Sabre yet. Either is Big Z.
  5. In their defense we did try to a quire him before he told us to take a hike.
  6. The fourth period has us linked to Necas, Zegras, Gustavsson, and Gibson The site has us the leader for Kakko and Laughton. Not sure why the interest in the goalies, unless they don’t want to pay UPL and want to give the crease to Levi and a vet like Gustavsson or Gibson.
  7. Adams allegedly never had any extension conversations with Mitts.
  8. And that’s why this team isn’t successful.
  9. So how much are we going to have to pay in terms of $ and years to replace Casey? How many good assets are we going to have to spend to replace Casey? Colorado’s GM thinks he can be a 2c on a Cup contender. Our GM doesn’t even think he’s worth a contract offer. Whose judgement would you trust?
  10. The Sabres Factor - the team with the most ex-Sabres wins the finals.
  11. 5th rd pick for the Sabres. Congrats KO
  12. I get it, but he is really really good. Add Dickinson, trade some of the lesser depth ahead of him to help depth elsewhere.
  13. If we can move Skinner without buying him out, I’d be ok with that. However, KA better have a plan then to find a scoring winger to go with the missing 2/3C.
  14. I’m a little surprised Dickinson isn’t getting any love. This is a terrific hockey player. I don’t think he gets to 11, but if he does, I can see him making Byram expendable in a couple of years. https://thehockeynews.com/news/sam-dickinson-vs-artyom-levshunov-who-would-you-choose-in-the-nhl-draft
  15. 4 goalies have already changed teams.
  16. It depends how many of the glut of forward prospects we trade to get the players we need. If we trade two of Savoie, Östlund, Kulich and Rosen, we would be wise to keep the 11th overall pick. In fact, that is the strategy to fix the NHL roster I’d prefer.
  17. I’d love to add Eiserman. I read recently that the issue with Cole is his skill set beyond scoring. I think it was Pronman who recently wrote that he originally thought Eiserman’s skills were elite beyond scoring, but now he think their just ok. I think the whole package is there, but team USA needs an elite scorer and he’s it.
  18. What are you talking about? We traded a 1st for Lehner and took back a contract. Lehrer was also injured when acquired. It was an awful trade then and time has not made it look better. It was a huge overpayment. We basically got nothing for taking back Legwand.
  19. …and that was one of his better trades.
  20. If the Devils make him available, Adams should try to be first in line.
  21. Celebrini is going no. 1, and while they may not be the next 4 picks, Demidov, Buium, Lindstrom and Levshunov aren’t going to be there at 11. However, I can see a scenario where every other highly rated prospect could be there at 11. That next group includes Catton, Parekh, Silayev, Yakemchuk, Sennecke, Dickinson, Eiserman, Iginla, Helenius, Brandsegg-Nygard, and Chernyshov and they could get drafted in any order. So who do you want and who do think Adams will draft at 11? Anyone else from my group of 11 names that you think there is no chance he’ll be available at 11?
  22. I’ll start. Apparently Ullmark, who has a 16 team NTC, also wants an extension before he accepts a trade. I would too if I was him.
