Well said. It's also not true that no one wants to come here. He has signed a plethora of lower level UFAs. What he hasn't done is convince a good player to waive his NTC/NMC to come here or a high level UFA to come here and that is what @Weave is really getting at.

you forgot the terrible PP, being unprepared for the beginnings of game and regression of our top players.

How would you divide the prospects by quality and likelihood to play in the NHL?

I think the next GM of the Sabres is already here and his name is Lindy Ruff. Think about it. If the team plays hard but is again falls short because of an incomplete roster, TP "elevates" his yes man Adams to some made up post, he then elevates Ruff to GM and Appert to HC.

Is the signing of Reimer an indication that Adams is going to let him and Levi compete for the backup job and/or is he insurance in case he can't get a deal done with UPL? I can see the Sabres starting the year with UPL and Reimer in Buffalo and Levi starting in Rochester so that he continues to play often. Levi then gets recalled for spot starts early in the year.

Granato got them to play hard for 2 1/2 years and then the wheels came off. I'm not saying Lindy won't have a short-term positive effect, but his shelf life will be limited as well without a proper roster to coach. KA has yet to give any of the coaches a proper roster to coach. One of the big issues last season was that the defenses didn't have to respect our scoring depth and KA's moves hasn't changed that but for the worse. They could focus their D on stopping TNT and Cozens and it helped shutdown the Sabres. The new bottom six had a total of 53 goals last season. Mitts and Skinner had 42 last season. Without an upgrade on Krebs, I'm afraid we won't be able to execute Lindy's vision of rolling 4 effective lines.

Truthfully this shouldn't be that hard to get a deal done using prospects and picks. So many teams haven't had a major infusion of young talent in years and years. I find it hard to believe that Adams can't find a partner who needs young talent and is willing to move a middle six forward to get it. Heck Utah seems to be able to get deals done. Utah acquired Sergachev for Connor Geekie (11th overall in 2022), JJ Moser (60th overall in 2021), a 2nd in 2025 & a 4th in 2024. They also acquired Marino with a 5th in 2024 for 2nd in 2024 and a 2nd in 2025. Calgary traded Mangiapane for a 2nd (Adams acquired Beck for a 2nd). We have so many prospects, Adams needs to thin the herd a little.

That's fine, but that's not what the team shows.

The list I typed is exactly what the Amerks own webpage shows. I even provided the link.

You need to keep editing. Zelenoov, Poltapov, and Nadeau are never playing in the NHL. Kisakov and Miedema are unlikely as well. https://www.amerks.com/team The Amerks list the following players Rosen - 5-11 168 Östlund - 5-11 163 Rousek - 5-11 191 Kulich - 5-11 170 Kisakov - 5-10 160 Neuchev - 5-11 171 Nadaeu - 6-2 198 Wahlberg - 6-3 194

...and there was much rejoicing. Now go get a friggin' center.

There are some strange things going on with the Sabres. I watched Baker and Fairburn last night and they raised some weird things going on with the Sabres. 1. Adams has been taking shots at Granato. Essentially blaming him for last year’s failures instead of the assistants, who are all still with the organization, or looking inward to see if his roster was bad last year and whether he properly supported the team in-season. 1b. They talked about Granato’s teams earning more points than any other teams with a bottom 5 payroll and the youngest roster in the NHL during that time. The implication to me is Adams is the problem and or Terry’s internal cap. 2. They also wondered why buyout Skinner and not spend the savings unless the only goal was to save TP real money? 3. They wondered if the actual big acquisition was Lindy. 4. But if Lindy was the big acquisition, why wasn’t he allowed to bring in his own assistants? 5. They also felt Adams is talking like a guy who is very secure in his job even if he doesn’t do anything more to improve the roster and the roster is still lacking. 6. They also were surprised at the complete lack of veteran prospects at development camp. They think the older guys should be there to help the new guys adjust to pro hockey and to build friendships and general team building. They also think the vets should be there for the coaches and staff to see their off-season progress especially guys like Kisakov. 7. Baker did mention that there was and may still be an internal cap. I put this rundown here as the only conclusion I can see is that Adams and Terry are running the team into the ground.

I'm a little surprised that the board thinks it's more likely that Adams acquires a top 6 forward vs a center. When I look at the roster, it looks to me like the only "available" forward job is the 3C. We have ample wingers in Tuch, JJP, Quinn, Benson, Zucker and Greenway, but all we really have at center is Cozens and TNT.

Listening to Baker and Fairburn's show and Baker thinks KA isn't done. Thinks they should go get Zegras. Fairburn thinks there is a deal to be made with Calgary who needs a youth injection. Maybe Coleman, maybe Kadri. I'm wondering if Backlund is available. His experience would be very valuable and he is still effective.

How hot will Adams' seat get if this team stumbles out of the gate?

A couple of acquisition ideas from another thread Henrique is still un-signed JG Pageau maybe on the trading block from the NYI. He does have a limited NTC. Roslovic is still available. He might be the best target at this point. 7-1 so far! You will have much shaming to do if I made the poll public.
