You can honestly tell me that based on his track record to date, that you are confident that he has the skills, leadership and the ability to make the right decisions to get this team back to the playoffs?

It wasn’t RK who didn’t upgrade Hutton. It wasn’t RK who gave Hall $8 mill, so he couldn’t afford a goaltending upgrade, and a full NMC. It wasn’t RK who overpaid Eakin in $ and term. I’m sorry he doesn’t get a pass for making stupid decisions.

Even that was 2 weeks to late and after a press conference where he stated he needed to review the situation before making a decision. That’s pretty sad when his firing an incompetent coach is the basis for your opinion.

What has KA done in two off-seasons that shows you he even remotely has a clue as to how to build and manage a hockey team. Was it all the goaltending he brought in to upgrade the position? Was it finding good players in trade or free agency? Was it the intelligent contracts? Was it the great value in trade? Seriously name one position he actually upgrade so far in his tenure? If it isn’t any of these actions, then your must be relying on his stellar management career prior to becoming GM. As to DG, certainly some of my opinion is partially based on his 20+ stint as the coach. However is actually based mostly on his 30 year successful coaching career at all levels. I asked for a teacher back when we hired RK and instead we got Rasputin. Now we have a proven teacher for a young team. Unlike KA, Beane was a known commodity in the football world with significant experience in all aspects of running a NFL team. He just hadn’t been the top guy.

The current tradition is bad coaching and management. The best new tradition would be for the Pegulas to hire competent management, not a rink manager with no credentials to run the team. Get good management (see Buffalo Bills), your team's winning culture will follow. We actually might have stubbled on the right coach. Now if the darn GM would get him so friggin' goaltending.

It could happen. Honestly, I know Beane knows what he is doing, but I actually doubt he’ll trade even for a first or the Terminator. I think he is all in this season.

This doesn't mean it's our only shot with Allen at QB, but it is the last year with Allen not taking a huge piece of the cap. When the Falcons paid Jones and Ryan, their flexibility to retain their top D disappeared and so did the team. KC is now struggling to keep everyone now that Mahomes' deal has kicked in. KC's window isn't closed, but things have gotten much much harder.

Yes he’ll probably be here one year but we are trying to win it all this year. Getting Mitch is part of that strategy. He was brought in as insurance for Allen so that we can winning in case, G-d forbid, Allen gets hurt. It’s especially important for running/mobile QBs. Don’t forget we’ll be much tighter to the cap when Allen’s contract kicks in next season. This is the window to win it all.

Prove it. I have the numbers and the coaches statements to support my opinion. He scored nearly a PT a game in the AHL and Taylor played him in all situations, PK, PP and in key minutes at even strength. Last season he scored at over a 60 pt pace under Granato and DG played him in all situations especially at the end of games to preserve wins. These coaches backed their actions with interviews supporting Mitt’s progress. What supports yours?

That’s not all that happened. Mitts has played well with every coach at every level not named Ralph Krueger the confidence killer. He was excellent in his tryout, solid as a rookie, excellent in the AHL, and terrific when finally given a chance by DG. This is a talented player who has physically and mentally matured. It’s not some mirage.

This a strong deep team but I’m not trading Mitch for a 1st. This team is good enough to win without Allen but they would need a very good backup to do it and that is Mitch.

We were part of the abused minority. Had this been Twitter we'd have been banned for not bowing to the group think on this board. Also Mitts wasn't overmatched last year as the 2C and actually played against many of the top centers last year as coaches tried to match up against him instead of Reinhart. Despite many tough matchups the ATM was our most effective scoring line under DG. DG has said as much this off-season.

Any interest in adding Larry Fitzgerald?

The only issue I really have is that we are basically burning the 1st year of his ELC just like we did with Mitts. He'll play the season with Michigan and then sign once the season ends and it could be very late depending on how far Michigan goes in the Frozen Four. He'll then play out the season in Buffalo. Had he signed now, we'd have him for the full season and guide his development directly and get the full benefit of his initial contract.

An agent who does things like this would lose all credibility pretty quickly around the league.

The really sad part and why I am so frustrated is that it didn't have to be this way. I am a huge advocate for playing the kids, but only if they are reasonably ready and UPL isn't even close. Guys who can't even save 90% of the shots against them in the AHL aren't ready for the NHL. To make it worse there is a great deal to like up front and on defense. Young and inexperienced absolutely, but talent that was clearly on display at the end of last season. All KA had to do was give the young skaters veteran support in net and we'd at least have a chance each night. Instead he gives us two guys worse then the crap that was already here after Ullmark rightly bolted out of town. He had no plan B for Ullmark and had no plan at all for a legit backup to Ullmark even if he had stayed. It's really heartbreaking the level of incompetence in our front office.

Actually UPL AHL's save % has stunk for the last 2 seasons. (Which I also mentioned earlier). 2019-20 on a good Amerks team his save% was .874 (Johansson's was .921 and Hammonds .908) Last season .888 Spin it any way you want, but this kid is not even close to NHL ready. No one makes the leap from below average AHL goalie to NHL goalie in one off-season.

This is a scary thought, but reasonable given the evidence. If Dell is the starter, KA should be fired.
