  1. They weren’t beating Alabama anyway. Love watching the Gators lose How long until Wilson is a meme?
  2. don't we have a college football thread?
  3. Didn’t UNC invent correspondence school for Athletes?
  4. I'm sorry but they can't get into a shoot-out with Bama and hope to win. Their offense is excellent but it can be stopped as IU proved in the second half of their game. Bama's D is far superior to Indiana's. OSU will be lucky to keep it close.
  5. No they won’t. Their secondary is awful. IU passed for over 400 yards. Matt Jones is going to have a field day.
  6. I’m just shocked that the Big10 changed the rules for OSU. Go NW!
  7. The receivers 1) Beasley - 5-8, 174 age 31 2) Gabe Davis - 6-2, 210 age 21 3) Diggs - 6-0, 191, age 27 4) Kumerow - 6-4, 209 age 28 5) McKenzie - 5-8, 173, age 25 6) Roberts - 5-11, 195, age 32 7) Hopkins - 6-3, 201, age 22 8.) Brown - 5-11, 178, age 30 If I'm projecting this group next year, I don't think Brown makes the team. Diggs is the primary, Beasley the slot, Davis is the size and speed. McKenzie is the change of pace. Browns injury history and lack of size works against him going forward.
  8. Jim Kelly is no. 1 right now. 4 Super Bowl appearances, HOF career solidify that spot. However, Allen is doing things on the field in his 3rd season that even Kelly never accomplished, such as last night. What is amazing is that last night was his 3rd such game this season. The first Bill QB ever to have 3 300 yd 4TD games in a season. Fitz did it twice and so did Kelly. Honestly, I have never seen a Bills QB as sharp as Allen looked last night. He literally destroyed the SF secondary regardless of coverage type. Truly amazing.
  9. How does playing RW teach someone how to play center? The best way to learn to play center in the NHL is to actually play center. He’d learn more from doing film sessions with the coaches and other centers and from talking with them about his mistakes while playing center. Also I’m concerned that putting him in top 6 spot as a first year pro is the same mistake we made with Mitts and Grigorenko.
  10. Is Allen already the best QB to ever play for the Bills? Loaded question to be sure, but the evidence is mounting.
  11. They have a choice keep the Michigan guy who the boosters like or get rid of him.
  12. Very proud of my Hoosiers. They played tough and its great having a backup who can really play. Karma would be great if Michigan can’t play, the Big 10 finds a pair and keeps OSU out of the championship.
  13. They contended the last two seasons for 1/2 the year. Maybe a 60 game season is exactly what they need.
  14. @Taro T The funny thing is your arguing with me, yet my "speculation" is nearly identical to Vogl's except I put a more proven goal scorer on Cozen's line then he had with Thompson. Thompson isn't a play maker, but a scoring hopefully power forward, but he isn't half the skater that Cozens and Skinner are. I opted for a more proven player that has the wheels to keep up. Not sure why that is so controversial to you. This myth that Reinhart is some great playmaker is not born out in the stats. He produces less assists then Jack (1.34 per goal vs Jack at 1.45). He also has less primary assists over the last couple of seasons. Good playmaker and passer? Sure! Great playmaker, not so much. In fact I'd argue his goal scoring has been more important to the Sabres then creating. He has scored 20+ goals in 4 of his 5 NHL seasons and has finished 1st, 3rd and 2nd in goals for the team over the last 3 years.
  15. I'd love for Samuelsson come in and lay claim to a job sooner then later. If the Sabres are out of the playoff chase late in the season, I can certainly see Samuelsson getting a look see.
  16. It's not me penciling him there it's RK. He insisted on keeping Sam stapled to Jack last season even when Skinner was struggling on the second line. Hall came here to play with Jack. What other conclusion can you draw if Hall came to play with Jack and RK insists on keeping Samson stapled to Jack? Remember the switch RK made when we acquired Kahun last year was to swap Olofsson with Skinner, creating a Skinner, Jack, Reinhart line with a VO Kahun, MoJo line. Vogl also has the same top line.
  17. Seems simple. Same starting 6 with Irwin as 7 with Pilut moving on. However it shouldn't be. RK played Montour out of position last season and it didn't work. RK also benched Miller often. We also have 5 RD's on the roster. That means one RHD is going to play LHD again. Also where does Joker play? Does he move over to the left side to help balance the lines or does he earn top pair honors with Dahlin? On paper our best in zone D are McCabe, Jokiharju and Montour. Our most physical D are Risto and then McCabe and Miller My first pencil to paper pairings looked like this Dahlin Montour McCabe Risto Jokiharju Miller (or swapped) Bryson Irwin My second grouping Dahlin Risto Jokiharju Montour McCabe Miller Bryson Irwin Honestly I don't love either lineup. I dont want Jokiharju on the bottom pair or out of position, nor do I want Montour out of position like last season. On talent our top 4 D are Dahlin, Risto, Montour and Jokiharju so I tried to work them in together in the second grouping. It will be interesting to see how RK pairs the guys come camp.
  18. That is what we have entering this season. Hall, Eichel, Reinhart is what is penciled in for this season although I agree I can see Reinhart moving to the second line this season and next to help get Skinner going. The biggest issue is that RK doesn't seem to want that. Also Skinner Staal and Olofsson is the likely second line this season. I don't see Skinner Cozens Olofsson as that different, but again I agree that neither Skinner or Olofsson are the greatest passers, but Olofsson is a better passer and creator then he has been given credit for. It hasn't really been his role since his shot is so dangerous.
  19. I doubt UPL will be ready for an NHL role. Not sure Samuelsson will be either, but it's a nice hope. I also having Thompson as a RW2 is a problem especially if we aren't sure what he'll bring this year much less next season. I think it is much more likely that Olofsson is the RW2. Also I can see R2 and Mitts taking jobs. Hall EIchel Reinhart Skinner Cozens Olofsson Mitts R2 Thompson/KO/Quinn Girgensons Eakin Thompson/KO Having such a young 3rd line could be a huge risk, but it's worked for us in the past. Also I doubt Seattle takes Girgensons. Eakin is possible but unlikely. It's more likely they take Miller to run their PP or a prospect like Mitts or Asplund if left available. On defense, I can see McCabe returning and Montour if Risto is traded. In goal, this seemed like the off-season to grab a goaltender and KA ignored the position at the NHL level. Not sure how he fills that position other then Ullmark having a good season and returning with a better backup.
  20. Probably, but at least he'll be in game condition. That said, will that make it harder for him to make the team? Without camp, can he carve out a role or will RK just insert him in the lineup when the World Jrs ends?
  21. I guess R2 will be heading here to begin workouts with his future teammates and push for a roster spot. Should be an interesting camp watching Cozens, Mitts, Thompson, R2, Asplund and Quinn fight for jobs. If I were Reider and Lazar, I'd suggest being in great shape and ready to go.
  22. Who knows. He needs to be better in the 200 ft game and be more effective 5 on 5. He also needs to produce in year 2. I do think he is a very nice 2nd line winger.
