Good challenge.

We are vastly improved. But let this be a sobering lesson how far we have to go yet.

All of the above. Tuch vs Eichel was a great catalyst. I was skeptical of Granato, but I stand corrected. The coaching clearly has made the difference.

Maybe Quinn & Power on the Powerplay will make it better next year.

The boys are flying tonight. Wow!

They were pretty good those years. And they had Ovi on Washington, and ROR played at a superstar level that playoffs. The bottom line is you clearly need a star or two. I don't think that is even debatable when you look at the past dozen years. The Sabres probably had the best non star studded team in 05-07 and could not even make it to the finals just playing as a "good well rounded team".

If we go back the past twelve years or so every team had at least one, most had two superstars. Detroit had Zetterberg, Pitt had Crosby/Malkin, The Blackhawks probably had 3, the Kings had Kopitar, The blues had Tereshenko (ROR was elite that playoffs), The Caps had Ovi/Backstrum, The Lightning as we all know probably have 3. We certainly can become a top 3 in our division, but it seems you need that elite firepower somewhere in your lineup.

Even if we only win 6-7 more I think we can see we are on the right trajectory. I think we officially turned the corner the Vegas game at home. Something happened that night that seem to change things for sure.

Buffalo gives him one of the best options to win the starting job, and is an up and coming young team. He said so himself in September: "I was super happy with the trade, going to Buffalo. It's a great opportunity to play for such a great program that's had a tradition of success in the past, especially with Ryan Miller playing there. There's just so much there that I'm really excited for.”

If we can win 9 of the last 15, that would be amazing.

I cringe when Butcher is in the lineup.
