God awful penalty for Tuch to take and of course it ends up in our net because our penalty kill BLOWS this year. Single-handedly costs us numerous games this year.

This is probably Buffalo’s best defensive performance this year so far, especially considering the firepower on the Rangers. Holding them to 12 shots so far is great. 20 more to keep it up.

When the games started to matter most, the past 10 days, the Sabres have responded by losing 5 of their last 6. The moment was too big for this team, which isn’t totally unexpected honestly. It isn’t just tonight for doom and gloom, it’s the last 10 days.

They were pretty bad during the Housley years too, but this current crop of coaches, especially the asst coaches have ZERO idea how to fix the defensive zone play and the penalty kill. There has been absolutely no improvement in these areas from game 1. To me, that screams coaching inadequacies.
