The Devils were THE worst team in the eastern conference last year. If they are already better than us, this team is in for a long year and will keep residing near the basement. They seem to be quite comfortable there for the past four years or so.

As they should be. This team has had so many excuses for years. Perhaps just perhaps these players suck?

Just as the last 4 October’s have been. It’s too much to overcome. They can’t give away points. They gave away one tonight.

Shootouts with this team are beyond horrifying to watch

I wonder how many games Lehner will cost us this year in shootouts. It’s embarrassing and as always the Sabres can’t score. How about letting your best player shoot Housley?

This team has overpassed for years. Shot had to be taken there.

The ONLY way Eichel isn't here for the next 15-20 years is if the ownership and management this thing up. So far they are 0 for 2. Yeah I know Eichel is here for the next five years or so. But if you don't think he is already watching how this franchise operates, you're crazy. The Sabres, Pegula and GMTM need to get their heads out of their before we lose the best forward we've had here in the past 25 years.

This team has been the worst or second worst team in the eastern conference for four straight seasons now. Of course they won't make many changes. Why should they? Losing is what this franchise does best. GMTM has one more year to get this team in the playoffs or he should be gone. I've lost almost all faith in him. To hear today that Blysma is coming back is no shock but doesn't give me any hope for next year either.

Do you see an issue with the product that has been out on the ice the past three years? If the cap hits don't bother you, this sure as hell should. This team is a disaster.

Exactly. Been sick of hearing the injury excuse all year. It had NO impact on the final result. The season and playoffs were there for the taking after their bye week. This team failed to show up the final two months. Plain and simple. I used to love Tim Murray, now I'm skeptical. I want wholesale changes on this team, head coach and at least a third of the lineup changed. Otherwise nothing will be different next year. Count on that.

I wonder how much Lehner hates this team? My guess, quite a bit.

Chalk up another embarrassing performance on the year. I'm losing count. They all blend in with the past three years of Sabre suck.

Lehner is horrible at poke checking. He always whiffs and it ends up in the net. You'd think he'd learn. But he doesn't strike me as overly bright.

It's soooo hard for anyone on this team not named Eichel or Kane to score.

The Sabres must lead the league in being within 10 feet of the net and unable to get shots on goal. Either voluntarily or otherwise. My god

And this team is neither of those things. Not physical and not talented. Hopefully one or both those things change around here someday. Until then, no playoffs. Six years and counting. Maybe they will catch the Bills drought. They are certainly trying hard enough to.

I think you're the one that's playing. But whatever. If you like a team that doesn't take the body consistently and play tough then that's on you. I'd prefer my team to be tougher to play against. If you're not going to win at least show maximum effort and abuse the other team. This team has done none of the above going on six years now. No winning and not enough effort. If you're good with that congrats.

Well if you read it carefully I wasn't pining for Nolan. I'm pining for a team that plays tough and gives a . This team doesn't. You should realize the difference. But apparently not

You keep enjoying this fine display of hockey then. It's been what, six years and counting with no playoffs. This franchise has done NOTHING to show they know what they're doing. They drafted Eichel and Reinhart. Any GM and team drafting second overall could have made those picks. There is NOTHING special about this team or the current leadership. Eichel is a stud. Where is that getting us right now? Take a whole lot more than him.

This team is going nowhere. Not with this coach, most of these players and I'm starting to think with this GM. I used to love Murray but I'm fast losing faith in him.

God I miss the Sabres of the mid 90s under Nolan. They weren't the most talented team by far, but they all played with heart and thoroughly enjoyed beating down the other teams physically and outworking them. I would take those Sabres teams over this edition ANY day. Oh and those "untalented" teams made the playoffs and actually won a series or two.
