    Adams may be considering:

    • Tuch, Krebs, Coghlan, conditional 1st based on Jack’s games played
    • Monahan, Zary, Dube, 1st, maybe an additional pick

I easily take the better high end from the Knights over the deeper Calgary offer.

    What say you?

What in the hell happened to Monahan?  I dont' want Flames games at all but he was a great C prospect coming into the league a few years ago.  I take it he has disappointed thus far?

  2. Ya it looks like I'm in the minority here.  It isn't exactly John's fault I suppose.  But to have 'suffered' through the tank years to watch Reinhart get traded for a song and watch the captain of this once proud franchise hanging in a private box with half the Bruins roster considering everything that is going on with his situation?  I guess I'm just bitter.  Maybe my bitterness shouldn't be directed at John but we as fans have suffered through 10+ years of misery now so sorry if I'm not going to kiss John's ass now.

Some updates from John Hoven, who has some insight into So Cal Hockey.

The Ducks were ready to make a hockey trade with the Sabres for Jack. Two roster players plus a pick were offered, one which was John Gibson, the Sabres said no.

The Ducks remain interested in Jack, but want the the price to come down. They also have no appetite to include Zegras and now it appears Drysdale and McTavish are off limits.

    Good luck with that Anaheim

Good ***** luck with that then.  Let a division rival trade for him and the Ducks can continue to suck.

    From David Pagnotta.

He mentions the Sabres might be willing to retain some salary to get the return they want.

Mike Russo of the Athletic mentioned the Wild might be inclined to jump back in if Eichel’s AAV was lower.

If Boldy, Rossi and two firsts are the return, Boldy will be on his ELC for two more years and Rossi will be on His for three. The Two First Rounders would still be on their ELCs when Eichel’s Deal Expires. With Eichel having five years left that’s essentially only two seasons of having to be concerned about the retained money, which would probably be around 2 to 2.5 Million. The downside is the Sabres(Yeah right) might be a legitimate cup contender in 4-5 years and need that extra space.

That being said, if that’s the best deal on the table and they land bonafide Top Line Prospects in Boldy and Rossi I would make the deal.

If they can get both Boldy and Rossi and 2 firsts, and the Pegulas are willing to pay some of the contract, I think this trade would be in the best interest of the Buffalo Sabres.  Sure seems like the return will never be better.

The Sabres have 11 Games scheduled after the Frozen Four Championship in Boston.

They can offer both Power and Portillo the opportunity to burn a year off of their ELCs and get some games in.

Ideally offering ATOs for the remainder of the season in Rochester with ELCs starting in 2022-23 would be the best case scenario for the Sabres after they complete their college season.

Why would the Sabres burn a year of their ELC?
