I care about his well being as a person and hope he returns to full health asap.

As far as caring about him as a hockey player, I don’t ever want to see him in a Sabres uniform again. He should go to the A where he can carve out a lengthy, if not legendary career as a minor leaguer. He’s just not an NHL talent. No shame in that.

I’ll remember him as someone who *should* have been a great Sabre but wasn’t , because the franchise couldn’t get out of its own way and right itself while he was here. A squandered piece you don’t give up full seasons for unless you are sure you can get the build right.

    Completely agree.

To be glass half full there finally seems to be a real prospect pool coming up right now.  We didn’t utilize Eichel but we luckily didn’t lose him for nothing either.  I’m hopeful this second rebuild around Dahlin/Power / young forward core including Thompson, Mits and Cozens already in the show / nice number of 1st and 2nd round picks over next two drafts.  Heck even our goaltending prospects show legit promise.

Until proven on the big stage they are just magic beans but this time we have way more chances and an opportunity to add a lot of depth if our much improved front office can nail some of these future moves.  Almost zero cap issues.  Slate is clean and finally reason for some hopeium.

No shame in losing tonight, almost everybody has to this Avalanche team.

Maybe they'll surprise and play a really good game against an obviously much better opponent and come out with atleast a point?

    Of course, maybe not too.

Big test for the kids tonight but come on NorCal there is most certainly shame.  Let’s figure out how to sting some wins together.  Let’s Go Buffalo!!!!!!

  4. I like the makeup of these young guys.  Different types with different skill sets.

We have the skilled playmakers in Mitts and Krebs, scorer in Quinn.  I’m very pleased knowing we also have that 2-way C you can throw out there with a one goal lead late in the game.  Cozens is a nice player and I’m excited to see what he becomes with this new core.

Tuch is a very good player. Loved him with Vegas since I live here but he leaves you wanting more. He turns it on in spurts. A guy his size that can skate like that when really motivated could be a handful to slow down. Loved Krebs energy when he was on Vegas as well. Think he’s gonna be a real good two way player. But he’s definitely a pass first guy.

For sure but nice seeing him pop a couple goals today.  If he can add 18 to 20 goals a year on top of the assists that should hopefully come, that’s a hell of a player.

You got a lot of likes for this optimistic post but I'm wondering if the Tampa game maybe brought you a little further on down the road to where I am?

Cause for me that was it, that's what was "on the ice" and that's what we are. Nothing.

That's fair, but I'd guess the Tampa game didn't help.

One game man.  One game.  Those high on the Hopi meter still realize we’re not talking about one game where 10 guys were out with Covid.  We’re looking at probably a calendar year from now and much further down the road the one game.

I saw a tweet about people needing to stop the double space after a period. The title of this thread is the extreme opposite.

I've heard that lately as well.  I've always used double space after period.  You know how much un-training this will take. Sorry un-training.
